I know how you feel about staying offsite...even when the numbers work out in its favor. We were contemplating doing offsite for our March trip...but decided to do Fort Wilderness instead!
Now that's waaaayyy different than a condo since we'll be tent camping, but both DH and I like camping and he's a huge Ft. Wilderness fan since that's where his family stayed on their trips when he was younger (where else could stay w/ 12 kids??)
A vacation is supposed to be a totally relaxed and immersive experience where you feel away from it all. If staying offsite would take some of that away and you won't be doing yourself a financial disservice by paying a bit extra, it my book it's worth it!
Oh Marcie, there's absolutely nothing nuts about wanting to stay on site.
I'll say this;
After planning many, many trips I've come to realize something. Obviously you want to keep the overall price reasonable. We all have a limit as far as price goes. But, when it comes right down to it, spending a little bit more to allow what YOU want to do is the best approach in my book. When I look back on a trip, I honestly never think about how much I spent (within reason obviously). I just think about how great it was.
A few months later, I can't even remember what the trip cost. Of course I'm not talking about $10,000 vs $2,000 or something crazy. But a few hundred at the end of the day really doesn't matter ultimately.
So I guess what I'm saying is... Do what feels right for you and your family and what will ultimately give you the best experience. You'll never regret spending a little bit more for that at the end of the day, but you may regret not doing it.![]()
I don't think your crazy for changing your mind once again. And I absolutely don't think you're crazy for wanting to stay onsite, especially if the difference in price is minimal once you calculate everything.![]()
Here I amA bit late...but here
Now to go back and read from the beginning.

Yay! On Dis property again! I really doubt you will regret that decision! And dining and everything, woot! Will be nice to not have to worry about it when you get there!![]()
Hi, I followed you over from another post. I saw that you had lost your mum recently too. I just wanted to say how sorry I was for your loss. You have a beautiful family and I'm looking forward to reading along and finding out which resort you pick! We are going on a similar trip in October too with my sister and her family and my dad to remember my mum/best friend who passed away in June.
I'm worried about it being too heartbreaking without her there. Her last name was Lawson. Hope your cutie has a great birthday!
Notes as I was reading along:
I laughed out loud at your son's comment about not knowing who to marry!
Love the Ohana photo with your mum.
The Mickey costume is super cute!
I vote Riverside. It's lovely there.
Those thing 1 and and thing 2 shirts are adorable. I'd love to get some for my boys. Where did you find them?
Looking forward to hearing more! Have a great weekend!
Hi Marci!! Found you from my PTR thread!
First, off I am so very very sorry about your mom. We lost my husbands mom and my mom is still dealing with complications from that horrible C word. Great big hugs to you and your family.
I vote for POR, that way we could do a little Dis meet and have Logan meet your sweet boys!!!Best of luck making a decision, it's always so hard!
Thank you!!OMG, that would be the best idea ever! What days are you going again?? If my DH sees your beautiful Logan, he will insist on if we have a girl, naming her Logan... HAHAHA... I love it on a girl.. The only quam I have is.. Lawson, Landen and Logan sounds like brothers... YAY or NAY?

I sent you a PMWell, I clearly I really love Logan for a girl! Also we mostly call her Lo so I think that is more feminine too.
