I'm starting to second guess our plans and could use some additional thoughts on them. We will be at Disney end of July/beginning of August. Kids (both 11) have only been to HS and MK. Kids decided they wanted to do the parks they haven't experienced yet first. After checking calendars and hours decided we would do EP, AK, HS and then MK. HS has EMH our first two days and I really really didnt want to get up that early for them to stand a chance for Jedi training. Jedi training is a must do as next time we would even consider returning to HS they would no longer be eligible. However, I just noticed that the last night of SW fireworks is the day before. Trying to decide if we should switch days now so they get to see the SW night show. But if we have been at the parks since 6 trying to get Jedi training, then they might be too exhausted to even care about the fireworks at 10. Anyone with experiences or thoughts? they havent seen F! yet so will they be just as happy seeing that and not the SW fireworks (which they dont know even exist as an option)? Thanks!

As long as you're ok with either option put it on them. Thats what I do to my 5 and 7 yr old. I would just ask them what show they want to see and tell them that it entails doing parks they've done first and getting up early if they choose SW. If they say they're willing then switch it. Despite crowd calendars and EMH, a good plan or park hoppers always trumps crowds. To get past the getting up early, take a midday break to rest/nap at hotel. HS is an easy park to break up until new lands open up.

Another option is to skip one of the other parks nighttime entertainment and hop to HS for SW fireworks if you have park hoppers.

If they love Star Wars the fireworks are pretty amazing! Can you slide in an afternoon nap that day?? That might help them to stay up until 10:00.

Even though the show is not showing up on the calendar for August, it's expected to continue and will be on the calendar once it's updated.

Seriously?!? That’s great. I was thinking that since it wasn’t on the calendar and the other night shows were that it was discontinued for some reason. That would solve lots of issues if you think it isn’t going anywhere. Thanks!

Yes, what @FastPasser. said. Believe me, he knows his stuff.

ETA: I suggest a midday break during the hottest part of the day. My boys are now 4 & 6 and last year had no problems with rope drop and nighttime touring, but we took a 4 hour break every day.
