Second DIS Unplugged Fantasy Football League Conference now forming

The first league formed from Sir-Mickey's previous announcement for a fantasy football league has just about completed its draft (done by email on 8 days!), but because of time issues, Sir-Mickey wasn't able to participate.

So, we are now forming a second league! I know there were a lot more people interested in the initial thread who weren't able to respond in time, so here is your chance!

There is only 8 days until the start of the season, and DW is in no way going to let me manage another email draft over the next week, so here are some details:

- Live draft will occur on Sunday, August 31st, at 3PM Eastern Time. You would need to be online at that time, or use the autodraft system to pick your team for you.
- ESPN default rules will be in effect
- Playoff format yet to be determined, including how to declare an overall League winner
- All skill levels welcome (the other league has a rookie from the U.K all the way up to a published expert!)

Ideally 12 teams would be involved in the second league, to match the first league.

So, the first 10 or 11 people (the commissioner has to participate, I am working details with Sir-Mickey in case I need to commish this league too) to PM me who are not participating in the first league ("Conference A") can be included. Please PM me your email address as that will be needed to invite you into the league.

I'd like to have the team owners set by Friday evening...I will also be offline all day tomorrow. Team Owners should hear from me, Sir-Mickey, or at least the ESPN site Friday or Saturday.

Just a bump, and a reminder - I will be offline all day today, so I will confirm with people late tonight or tomorrow.

We need 10 more people...skill levels don't matter, and you don't have to be at the draft - you can let the computer pick for you from a preset list you can adjust.

I can't be online on Sunday evening, but I'll still use auto draft. I've never done fantasy football before, this will let me get used to it and then next year I can do some serious drafting

I'm a huge Patriots fan! He's having fun doing this so I'm happy too!

He'll be happy to see at least 4 people up for the 2nd league! I'll give him an update next time he calls to check in!

He'll be back on at some point tonight. Took DD1 to Six Flags NE, early gear up for Dis in 5 1/2 weeks! She loves roller coasters and is tall enough for all of the big ones there now!, Superman, Batman, etc. She's probably doing better than I would!

Hey guys, just got back...need to get some Advil (they still have some old classic coasters, and they HURT) and get the cobwebs out of my head...

For those who want to play and haven't already sent me a PM with their email address, please do so. If we need to fill in to get the 12 teams, I'll let some people from the first league do double duty. I may even do it myself because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Ex-retirees are welcome...this is for bragging rights more than anything.

Difficult to say. There are 16 rounds, with 12 teams. The time limit for each pick is 2 or 3 minutes. If everyone took the maximum amount of time in theory it could take over 9 hours. It usually comes nowhere near that, as some times will be on autopilot (automatic picks from their pick list or the default list), and those doing it live usually have an idea of who they want next and pick quickly. It could take 3-4 hours though.

You can start the draft and leave later, putting yourself on autopilot after you've gotten your main picks in.

I did a rough calculation and thought I musta got something wrong - 9 hrs! I guess in honor of the draft we'll eat wings that nite so dinner doesn't interrupt my draft picks
