Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone knew what the rules were concering the 2nd DDE memebership card. I read on allears that the opportunity to add a spouse/partner to the membership was available for a further $25. My queries are:
  • Does it have to be your partner, or can it be another member of the party?
  • Does the other potential cardholder need to have an annual pass?

Thanks in advance for your wise words:thumbsup2,

The second party does not need an AP. I figured "spouse or partner" meant just that. If it is another member of your party (who will dine with you wnenever the card is used), you don't need another card--one card is good for your entire party of up to 10 people dining together.

We've had no problem with a spouse (same last name) using the card when the "official" name on the card wasn't there. The charges were being billed to our resort room, and the last name on the room matched the name on the card. They never asked for any more ID.

I guess the only time this would be an issue would be if you were trying to get a card for someone else in party (different last name) who might be dining separately from you. I don't know how Disney would handle that.

Yes, the official rules are spouse or partner so it has to be a spouse or partner.

Well, my dilemma was whether to get one for my dad as well (I'm the one with the AP), as he and my mom will be enjoying several meals together, while my brothers and I amuse ourselves. But rules are rules..

Thanks for all your help- it's very much appreciated.. :sunny:

No, it has to be your spouse. You can not get one for your father. He can however, get his own, but he must be a FL resident or annual passholder.
