Sebastian's STRONG and SVELTE Under the Sea September W.I.S.H. Weight Loss Challenge - All Welcome!

Wow...was it hot today! I took down my pool...just small...Jacuzzi size. I float in it on my air mattress, it's just right. I cut my lawn. I had lettuce wraps for lunch and fresh pineapple for my snack. I got a lot done, so I'm feeling good. I just did my nails. I bought silver polish to match a belt and purse I'm wearing for dress up night on the cruise, just wanted to try it out and see how it looks. Tomorrow is gym day...yeah...looking forward to finding joy at the gym! Oh, my sister made brownies this morning, a recipe I gave her. I could smell nothing but chocolate in her whole house. I looked at them...boy they looked yummy! Thank goodness she brought them to work with her. They would have been a temptation for me...not sure I could have resisted. Tonight for my dessert I'm having blueberries (frozen) put in microwave with coconut crème. It's very yummy and nutritious. You all have a great night. See you all tomorrow for check in!

When I'm on the treadmill, I actually usually listen to a parks soundtrack.

So sorry about your bad day/week :( It was not a woohoo wednesday for me either so I can definitely relate! Do you think that it's a matter of not hearing the alarms? Or are you "waking up", turning them off, and going back to bed without having any recollection of it? I only ask because I have a bad habit of doing the latter. I wake up without really being aware of anything and turn off my alarm and wake up much later thinking "Man...I feel like my alarm should have gone off by now..." so I started putting my alarm clock across the room so that I actually had to get up in order to turn it off which wakes me up. I hope your week turns back around and that the weekend is fun and stress free!

Is the parks soundtrack something you've purchased? Or just listened to on Live365?

Another long day gone in the blink of an eye.... I really need two more hours in every day. Three would be nice but I will settle for two.

Coming out of lurkdom to say, very nice! I have two girls who sing. The older will be 25 next month. She sings and plays guitar. The other is 12 and just sings for now, but she is also an aspiring YouTube star. I'm going to share your channel with them. They'd enjoy it a great deal.

Way to go on the weightloss and your career!

Welcome to you (and any other lurkers)! We would love for you to join us!!

D'oh. Yes, the 60th anniversary hoodie is what I meant. It's really cute -- all grey with Mickey and Friends in their best blue and silver attire.

The run was interesting. After running the 5K with no training and pushing myself through this, the first day of C25K was really... underwhelming? I got through it and used it more to start pacing my breathing. Not trying to get around other runners but really taking that moment for myself to say: "Okay self. You're building up stamina. Go for stamina and not speed"

Underwhelming is great! You are clearly ready to do this!!!

Morning all! Just a quick check-in to say hi for the day! I'm subbing in K again today and will be off on TWO field trips! I see lots of apple snacks in my future today! That reminds me, I need to grab some cash so that I can buy a bag of apples while I'm there!

Got in 60 minutes of exercise last night....... feeling good about that.

TTYL......................P

Mmm. Love apple picking!

QOTD - September 17
Music! What's on your playlist, mixed tape, permanent replay? What gets you going? What songs leave you boogying in the aisle of the grocery? Power your through the run or ten extra minutes on the elliptical?

My playlists are also pretty eclectic. And usually up-tempo!

Current list of most-played (last 30 days):
Taylor Swift - Love Story
The Cure - Friday I'm in Love
Prince - Let's Go Crazy
The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
Sex Pistols - I Fought the Law
Prince - Little Red Corvette
R.E.M. - Stand
The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go
The Bangles - Manic Monday
Cheap Trick - Surrender (tie)
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger (tie)

Shake it Off has FINALLY dropped out of the top ten. Unfortunately only to 12. And probably only because Love Story skyrocketed to the top out of nowhere.

Good for you with the shopping finds! Things to wear over an outfit that match are really hard to find. Especially when you just need a little something but not too much. My arms get cold in the air conditioning. So in November it's cool in the morning...could be hot late afternoon and then cool at night! My biggest issue is where to put the sweater or lightweight outer thingy when it gets too hot in the parks! I agonize over this...what to do?

I like a pashmina for the parks. Warm enough for air conditioning and chilly nights. Small and light enough to shove in a bag or even tie to a handle.

Oh sorry the shopping reference was for a prior post. And...good gosh...London! Exciting!

London is beautiful and one of my favorite cities! I'm excited this time around because I don't have to go - I was flying out, spending a day in meetings, and then almost immediately hopping back on the plane. Way too many hours in a plams for so few hours on the ground (and no time at all for fun)!

Thursday Morning....I'm feeling good. I did a weigh-in today...just wanted to take a chance. I've lost more weight! The increase in calories and added exercise is showing results. And....I'm not starving every single day! I've been hungry for a year now. So...got to be careful still. I did go to a luncheon this week with former co-workers. I knew there would be food...food I don't normally eat. I chose very carefully and did not overeat. I also had some dessert...chose that carefully too. She had these filo dough filled cups, very tiny, you can buy them in the frozen section already cooked. She filled them with cream cheese and natural fruit jelly, topped with a raspberry. Very reasonable calories. I think I'll make these for Thanksgiving. Anyway...did really well and did not feel deprived that day. So...September is looking good so far!

That's great! I'm glad to extra calories have you feeling strong!!

I am ashamed to admit this but nothing pumps me up more than listening to Donny Osmond sing "I'll Make a Man Out of You" before I begin my workouts. It's the best warm-up song because by the time it's done I feel like I'm ready to take on the world. Anything with a good beat will keep me going after -- anything Lady Gaga, "Uptown Funk" (Mark Ronson), "Shut Up and Dance" (Walk the Moon), "Starships" (Nicki Minaj), etc are all on my Spotify workout list right now so I can move to the beat and keep going.

Sometimes I'll take a dance break in my office during my workday. I often have the need to just need to close my office door, turn up the volume of Spotify, and dance it out. :)

I think I need office dance breaks! Tomorrow that door is getting shut and I am going to DANCE!!

Fun musical tidbit from my last Princess Half Marathon. I was just coming out of the backstage area and entering onto Main Street when the song "Feel the Moment" by Christina Aguilera and Pitbull came up on my shuffle list. I swear I did not plan it! It was awesome, and after my sister and I stopped a couple quick times for selfies together by the castle and by Buzz and Woody for our sons, and the song restarted when I got going again. It was just perfect. Everytime I hear that song on a run now, I can easily picture running up Main Street with the cheering crowds, and it is very uplifting!

That is an awesome story!!!

well my avatar is gone again....weird

anyhow, day 2 of journaling.. whew

playlist -- well I'm pretty much all over the board and love the new iTunes library and amazon prime music for varying my playlists. but you are right...songs can trigger memories from awesome moments in a race/event; that one is especially a good one! I like anywhere from Prince to Nirvana to Franki Valli and the Four Seasons...just depends on my mood ;) and my workout playlist is definitely a hodge-podge for it!

Hodge-podges are the best kind of playlists!!

Monday my boss emailed me and told me that I need to do better about getting to work on time. I've known for a while that was coming! I am chronically late to EVERYTHING I do (but I read an article that means I'm more optimistic and a happier person, so does that make it better? LOL) - not hours or anything, but almost always 5-15 minutes late. Sometimes 30-45 on really bad days. I ALWAYS have the worst guilt about it, too, and it's frustrating because people just assume that if you're late, you're being rude or you just don't care enough to get there on time... But that's not the case for me!! But try as I might, I just don't get places on time. I've tried changing the clocks so I think it's later than it is, but that doesn't help, because I remember that I changed the clocks so I just figure out the "real" time LOL. Mornings are really rough because of all the road construction going on. Lately it hasn't mattered WHEN I leave my house, the earliest I get to work is 15 minutes after I should be here. So Monday, I took a different route, and clocked in 1 minute early! YAYYYY! So I told my boss so sorry, no worries, won't happen again - 100% meaning it.

....then yesterday morning I slept through 2 hours of alarms on my phone and 2 hours of the clock radio going off at full volume, and woke up 15 minutes after I was supposed to be at work. I ended up being an hour and ten minutes late yesterday, and I felt HORRIBLE because I had just gotten done telling my boss I wouldn't be late again. So I apologized profusely, told her what happened and that I was going to start getting to bed earlier so that I wouldn't run into this issue again, and she was a little perturbed (apparently right when she got in, someone had asked her where I was, and she didn't know, which obviously doesn't look good on either of us) but understood. :scared:

Oh no! On one hand I'm glad you finally got some sleep but on the other that is added stress you don't need! Does your work allow for any sort of flexible hours? I wonder if it would be easier on you if you had a later official start time.

Then there were a bunch of issues with the bachelorette party plans because fewer people are actually coming than initially said they would, so we no longer meet the minimum group number required for the painting class, and I didn't see a reason to have those few people drive in from out of town (most of our friends live in the town where we went to college, which is about 45-60 minutes away from Memphis) just to go to dinner for a couple of hours, so it looked like we were cancelling the party. All in all, I could use the extra weekend to get stuff done, but it still sucked. But long story short, the painting place will still let us do the class with the group we have (half the minimum requirement) but we have to pay the same amount, so everyone is going to end up paying more per person, or I need to find a way to come up with the extra money so that everyone's per person price stays the same. Double sigh.

Triple sigh. I'm sorry!

When I'm on the treadmill, I actually usually listen to a parks soundtrack. Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion are just shy of a 20 minute jog! In my car, it's almost always on the country station, but I'm getting really tired of hearing the same songs 15 times a day, lol, so when I get to that point I'll plug in my phone and listen to Disney parks music on Live365 or a DisUnplugged podcast. Can you tell I'm ready for a vacation? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::faint:

Just a few short weeks to go!!

Quick flyby for me ... I've been MIA, so I wanted to stop in and say hi!
I don't have time to chat, but I hope everyone is having a good month so far (and/or working towards having a great second half of the month)! My Wednesday weigh-in was up a lot, but I'm not surprised because I fell off the wagon a bit early this week. Hopefully tomorrow's weigh-in will be better, but we'll see.

In terms of today's QOTD ...
When running I have a pretty weird mix - some rap, some rock, some alternative ... it's a little of a lot of things. Today's run started with "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys and ended with "Run This Town" by Jay-Z ... with some pretty random stuff in between.
Otherwise it's whatever I'm in the mood for. I tend to listen to a lot of Disney music while cleaning... I guess I'm hoping that if I listen to music from Cinderella while cleaning, my fairy godmother will help me get to the ball too!

It's a combination of both, but mainly I'm like you - I am a PRO at waking up juuuussssttttt enough to shut off my alarms when they go off. Then when I really wake up, I spend who knows how long trying to figure out why my alarms never went off. I've been like that for ages. I've tried putting the alarm on the other side of the room (the clock radio currently is) but it hasn't helped - before DH2B and I moved in together, it was no trouble at all for me to get up, shut it off, and get back in bed without ever really waking up. Now I just hit him until he gets up and turns it off. :rotfl: I need the flashing lights that public buildings have for the fire alarm, and maybe the fire alarm, too. LOL

I have the "Walt Disney World Official Album" downloaded from iTunes, and that's what my phone alarms are, and what I listen to on the treadmill. I prefer Live365 just because there's more song variety there, but it's not always worth it to track down the Disney stations for a 20 minute jog. When I listen to it at work, though, I listen to it for hours at a stretch. I bounce back and forth between Magic Band radio, DizRadio Live, DLuminations, and Mouse house Radio. I like that it's a lot of area music, but also on-ride audio, too, so you really feel like you're in the parks. DLuminations goes park by park with their audio, so you do ALL of the area music and rides in MK, then all the area music and rides at EPCOT, etc.

A slight woohoo to make up for yesterday - I ordered some dresses to try on for our Il Mulino date night, and I have been wearing 18s but couldn't find cute dresses in that size online, so I ordered a couple of 16s and 16Ws and hoped they would fit... Well the 16Ws are HUGE, and even the 16s are big, too! Yayy!!!!! Now I'm worried that all those clothes I bought a month ago and set aside for the Disney trip aren't going to fit... uh oh!

How is everyone's night going? Any big weekend plans??

I wish I could have her little birds come help me clean my house... Or even better, be able to snap like Mary Poppins and have everything jump into place! I won't lie, I have often cleaned to the happy working song from Enchanted. Haha!

YES!!!!!!! You're going to keep on shrinking until your wedding date and be surprised at just how small you are. Try on your Disney clothes and see if you can return them for a smaller size? :)

How is everyone's night going? Any big weekend plans??

We finished cleaning out the old apartment tonight and the keys get turned in tomorrow... on my birthday! Birthday dinner at Blue Bayou tomorrow, followed by a shopping morning with the Mother In Law to celebrate our joint-birthday and then her dinner on Sunday. Oh and I'm apparently suppose to answer two case studies (2 pages per report) and work on the MBA team projects (there are two).

One of our MBA projects is to discuss putting a Disney theme park into an assigned country. Every team in the class got a different country. It's like a dream! Our country is India so we not only have to research India but look into the launch process from start to finish, using Hong Kong and Paris as reference on what to do and not do. Our other project is comparing the strategic advantage of Regal Cinemas and AMC Theatres, so there will be a few movie trips coming up "for research" ;)

Morning all! :wave2: No time to read/reply as I've gotta dash in 10 minutes...... teaching Kindergarten again today:teacher: (but a different class) and then training in the afternoon (so that I can proctor tests later this month). Then I got a last minute call to work maintenance tonight, so I'll do that from 3-8..... so do NOT count on hearing from me again today....:p It will be a LOOOONNNGG day, but the paycheck will be worth it! :offtopic: Just 26 days until I'm on my way to Bermuda:beach: and I need EVERY EXTRA CENT. I PROMISED myself that if I took this trip that it wouldn't make a negative impact on what I was able to save for tuition... so I MUST work extra. That being said, my Mom paying for the resort was a BONUS I hadn't counted on, so I should be fine.... but every penny counts, right?!:thumbsup2

On topic..... I am down ONE POUND today and I am THRILLED!! :yay: Doesn't sound like much, but it is HUGE for me.... plus it means I have lost three weeks in a row..... love a good DOWNWARD TREND! Can't WAIT to track this on my graph!!

Off to refill my coffee :coffee: and get ready for a busy day! I'll pop on tomorrow to see how everyone is doing! Happy FRIDAY y'all!!..................P

Unfortunately they were all summer clearance purchases so they aren't in stores anymore. Fortunately, though, I have a mom who is a wiz with a sewing machine and can take them in (within reason) if need be!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU!!!!!!! :bday:

CONGRATULATIONS on finally being able to put that old apartment behind you! What a great feeling, and on your birthday to boot! How fun that you guys share birthday weekends. Enjoy your celebrations and don't stress over the calorie count - it's YOUR weekend! Treat yo self! I have heard really good things about Blue Bayou, and I think it's amazing that it's IN Pirates! If I ever make it out to DL, which we hopefully will in the next few years, we need to meet up!

That is SUCH a cool project! You better get an A++++++. :rotfl:

HAPPY DANCE to you for your 1-lb loss, and your 3-week losing streak! :cheer2:

Ugh I totally forgot to WI this morning, will set out my scale to remember tomorrow

It's no thang! Don't stress. :goodvibes You've got an extra day to lose some extra weight!

QOTD - September 18

It's Friday!!! And that means it is time to start the check-ins; anytime over the weekend is fine. I'll get the list posted Sunday night.

How did the week go for everyone? Big weekend plans? Or is anyone lucky enough to get to stay home and nest?

I hope you all have a fantastic end of the week!!

HAPPIEST OF HAPPY FRIDAYS TO ALL MY LOSER FRIENDS!

Boy am I ever excited it's Friday. This week has been soooooo loooooonnnnggggggggggggg. But today is looking up! Got a comparatively decent amount of sleep last night, so I was up on time this morning (later than I had planned because I was hoping for an overly ambitious morning, but still plenty early enough to get ready for work without feeling frantic), was able to pull out the piko and printed yoga pants to wear today (WOOOOOO for comfy Friday!), left early enough to stop by Starbucks on my way in and use my free reward on a chai latte, and made it to work on time! Plus I did all of my work for today yesterday, so I don't have anything to do for another hour or so when the mail gets here.

:dancer:

Plus, I weighed in this morning at 200.6lbs! That's a loss of 4.9/5.6lbs, putting me at 88% of my September goal, with just 0.7-lbs to go. :cool1::cool1:

@courtneybeth I didn't make it down to 199 yet, but I'm 1-lb closer! I'm going to weigh again this weekend (probably Sunday, after I've been able to get a full night's sleep tomorrow) and hopefully my number will be even lower. We shall see! :woohoo:

Late, probably sleepless, night planned tonight. Yard sale at 6am tomorrow, and still have to raid the house and hunt for things to sell. Normally it's not this difficult, but we did the big yard sale last September, then had another one in April before we moved, and we donated all of the leftovers to Goodwill because we didn't want to move them. Oh, how I wish now that we hadn't! There was SO MUCH left!!! Grrrr. I know a month from now we'll find stuff all over the house that we'll wish should've gone in this sale. Hopefully I'll be able to track all that down tonight!

What are YOUR plans, fearless leader?? Anything awesome going on?

Kudos to everyone for all their hard work paying off! :yay:

:bday: @courtneybeth ! Enjoy that dinner at Blue Bayou tonight. :cool2:

@JacknSally you are so, so close to ONE-derland -- it's right around the riverbend. :thumbsup2

Some place upthread folks were talking about sparkleskirts. I have been buying sparkleskirts from sparkleskirts.com for years. I love the tech skirts -- I can pack all the stuff I need for a whole half marathon, including water bottles, gels, iphone and Anker portable battery in one of those. And they last for years. I am just finally having to retire two I bought in 2011. They are made in the USA and the owner, Leah, is a very nice person.

I was down 1.8 at WW yesterday which brings me to a total of 5 pounds down out of my 5 pound goal for the month or 100% :jumping1:
I cannot tell you the last time I actually hit my monthly goal on one of these threads. And now I have a six week losing streak and going for seven.

Yesterday was a little crazy so happy about my weigh in and then got that call no one wants to get "Mom, I've been in an accident." :scared1: Luckily everyone is okay and cars can be fixed and I had plenty of points for booze last night. :drinking1

I have a 10k on Sunday. This is the race I've been training for with my running group all summer. It should be a lot of fun.

Have a great week-end all! :goodvibes

Check in! I'm at 205.2 today, which puts me down 2.4 overall or 31.5%. 3/5 workouts are complete for 60% of that goal. That gives me a grand total of 45.75%. Woohoo!!

As far as the weekend, I had intended menu planning, grocery shopping, and a hike with the pup. Until DH came out while I was drinking my tea this morning and said that he might have inadvertently invited 15 people for dinner tomorrow. The house is a mess. The pantry is bare. The freezer is bare. Several of the people are vegan. Three are gluten free (including one of the vegans). And our friends are well trained that I do not do potluck. I like to entertain. I like to come up with menus that feed everyone safely and well. I like to do the cooking myself. But it takes time. And notice. And we both have to work all day. Tentative plan is to rush clean the house tonight. DH will sterilize the kitchen to get rid of gluten particles while I shop in the morning and then we will somehow throw together a taco party. Still I'm so not happy! Grrr.

Planning to get together meal plan and groceries for the week in Sunday, meet up with a friend for lunch, and somehow get Lexi at least a short hike so she doesn't eat the house in boredom next week.

Luckily, I already have our QOTW all ready to go. Just needs to be cut and pasted into place tomorrow!

:goodvibes

Woohoo! Goal crushed!! That is a scary phone call.... So glad everyone is OK!!!

Awesome! I'm going to try these out! When I have wifi I listen to Reedy Creek Radio but they tend to have cycles and I end up listening to the same thing. Not that it's bad but I'm looking for more variety. And I'll have to look into the album. I NEED MORE DISNEY! lol

I weighed this morning and it wasn't great so I'm going to behave today and hope that my official weigh in tomorrow is a little better. I'm not surprised as it's been a rough week and there has been a lot of stress and hormonal eating and bad decisions. It just always stinks to see a gain :sad1:. But I know that it happens, even if you do everything perfectly so I'm trying to just let it go and see what happens tomorrow.

For weekend plans my DH, MIL and BIL have their last 10k. It was a part of a 10k series where than ran 3 in 4 weekends. I'm sitting this one out as the last one was rough and I am still not trained and afraid I might injure myself if I try it again. DH works on Saturday so I'm not sure what I'll be doing! Saturdays are so boring without him, I usually just end up sitting at home thinking about how bored I am lol.

I didn't make it down to 199 yet, but I'm 1-lb closer! I'm going to weigh again this weekend (probably Sunday, after I've been able to get a full night's sleep tomorrow) and hopefully my number will be even lower. We shall see! :woohoo:

You are so close! Let's not count any 'official' numbers until Sunday's cutoff because I just know you're going to make it! Keep up the hard work and don't let the stress of this week get you down. Sometimes in the midst of adversity and insanity we find ourselves rising to the challenge and we do better than we originally thought. Having two good night's sleep in a row and not thinking about work things will definitely make a difference. Let's get you to that magic number.

And most important of all, happiest of birthdays to @courtneybeth. I hope you have a fabulous time at the Blue Bayou, the most wonderful of all of the restaurants in the Disney empire!!!

THANK YOU! I'm going to take some pictures and share with the group so it'll feel like you guys were there with me. Even though in the last few months it has felt like you have all been there with me -- cheering me on and supporting me. I've enjoyed doing the same for all of you. This place is really a positivity bubble and pixie dust. :)
