DH and I went to the first Manta passholder morning today and it was great! We got 7 rides between 8 and 9 a.m., then two more after the general public came in. At that point the line was approaching an hour so we just went to Kraken (we waited 10 mins. the first time and 25 the second after park opening before it got nuts). We actually got to use our reride privileges for the first time ever on Kraken. The worker wasn't too pleased; I don't know if it's the norm but she really didn't seem to like the platinum thing.

I suspect the weekend passholder mornings will get crowded, but I'm hoping most weekdays will be like this. We were on of the first into the parking lot and first to the gate since we parked in the preferred lot. I think they might have let us in a few minutes early, and Manta was up, running, and ready for riders at 8. The only dumb thing was that they wouldn't let people stay on even if there was no one waiting. You still had to walk all the way around. I guess I got spoiled at Six Flags...part of how I managed to rack up 30 rides on Batman was being able to stay on. Oh well, 9 on Manta in two hours was still pretty darned good.

Those stuffed chocolate cookies at the bakery in Key West should be banned!

So we went to SW this Sunday, rode Manta at 9am. They told us the Passholder preview is only on Mon through Fri. I guess I had the wrong info and thought we could get in at 8! No biggie though, it was still a lot of fun. I agree, platinum ride again privileges would be great on this. Maybe in the future?

The preview actually just started today so they may have meant this past weekend. The promo stuff we have says they started today and run through June 30, with no specific restrictions on days.

The early morning ride for passport holders didn't start until today. That must be the real reason you really couldn't get in an hour early to ride it or they meant just last weekend it wasn't .

The The passport fun Tracker ad for it does not say it isn't good on weekends though. It lists May 26-June 30....... 8 AM -9am before the park opens to the public. It does say it is subject to change, though.

I rode it four times in one day during a soft opening. It was creepy the first time laying down. And that first loop where you get pressed against your back totally throws everything off.

I also like sitting on the left because you can get wet when the water sprays up.

I don't think I have it in me to get up there at 8am. Although I might if I'm up to it after taking kari to work at 7am... but most her shifts don't seem to start that early.

I'm glad I got to ride it during the soft opening of it. And I have the patience to wait until after the hype wears off. It's what I did with Everest.

But it is totally awesome in every way....

We're going to go to the passholder preview again tomorrow to compare the crowd size. I have the feelings the weekdays will be reasonable and the weekends will get pretty crowded. The first loop is indeed a killer. Last time I didn't eat before we did it, and after nine rides my head was whanging. This time I will make sure I have plenty of sugar in my blood because that seems to help.

We did it again today; less crowded with passholders, but the coaster opened quite a while after 8 because there seemed to be some issues. We got 6 rides this morning vs. 9 last time, and on the first two or three times it came to a dead stop on the first brake run.

That's not fun....

Are they usually running both sides now?? Every time we stood in line, there was only one side open. But at the very end of the day when the wait was like 40 minutes, they finally opened both sides to clear the line out.

I want to ride front right the next time I go on. I think we rode, row 7, 3, 5, and 7.

They only have one side open for the passholder preview, but both times we did it they opened the other side pretty quickly once they started letting the general public in. Even with the issues the other day, they had both sides running by the time we left. That really, really helps keep that line down.

Anyone at the passholder preview on a weekend day? Just wondering what the crowds were like.
