We just got back from a week in Orlando and did the big three: Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld. Of course all of the parks are world class -- wonderful. I have to say, though, that we were most impressed and had the most fun at SeaWorld. The way the park was decorated for Christmas and the Christmas shows were phenomenal: O Wondrous Night, Miracles, and the ice skating show. I just want to highly recommend adding a day here if you have the opportunity.

I've done Sea World's Christmas for the last couple of years along with Universal and Disney, this year I skipped Sea World to do it's sister park Busch Garden's Christmas town and it was just as impressive if not more than Sea World's.This is what I'll say about Sea World's and Busch Garden's Christmas events, there is no doubt in my mind that as far as decorations and lights throughout the park go they've got Disney and Universal beat.Obviously they can't compete with the Osborne Lights,Cinderella's castle in lights, the Candlelight processional,or the Universal Holiday Parade and Mannheim Steamroller concert but when you get right down to decorations they have decorations and lights EVERYWHERE!!!The Universal and Disney parks have like 20-25% of their parks decorated. As far as shows they both have tons of super Christmasy shows like the ice skating shows with the Sea World one with fireworks at the end If I recall.Sea World's O Wondreous Night is amazing, the Sea of trees, the Polar Express are all amazing. Both parks have an all you can eat buffet with Santa and Mrs.Claus.Busch Gardens has a singing and dancing Christmas celebration at the Pantopia theater where you can eat as you watch the show, several other Christmas Choirs and gospel shows. They have a Christmas lighting show and the Carol of the bells lights and projection show on their Crown colony building. They even have an Elf academy for kids and several other Christmas shows for kids and after 4pm their train becomes a sing along train with the train in lights and Christmas music playing and everyone singing along.Basically so many Christmas things going on the day is actually more enjoyable than Universal and Disney which like I said have amazing events, lights and decorations just fewer than Busch and Sea World.

we went to SW during a Disney trip ten or 11 years ago, and were unimpressed. We went again, just to see Shamu, five or six years ago, our socks were knocked off! What a change. It is sooo beautiful and wonderful, now we go just for SW! (And, BGT!)
We will be there next week!!! Can't wait!!!

I don't think they even had a true Christmas event 5-6 years ago so for Christmas it's improved 1000%.I think 5-6 year ago they had a water projection show on the lake and not much else,it really has gotten much better. The Busch Christmas event was a hard ticket event last year and this year it's included in park admission.

I too enjoy SW at Christmas. We have been on Christmas Day as well for a few hours and really enjoyed it, it was a more relaxed pace for us :santa:

Kathy, I'm glad you had a great visit to Florida and especially enjoyed SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration! I agree and think that SeaWorld does Christmas best. I look forward to it every year. :)

I completely agree. We did Disney and Sea World last year in December and thought Sea World put Disney to shame. We are planning Christmas in Orlando next year, and will be doing Sea World and possibly Busch Gardens, but not Disney. The Christmas factor at Disney isn't anywhere near worth it to us to offset the crowds, but Sea World was wonderful.

I'm going to SeaWorld here in a could of days on January 3rd and it looks like we get SeaWorld Christmas lite. Elmo's Christmas Wish, Oh Wonderous Night, and Shamu's Christmas Miracle are not playing but Sea of Trees, Waterfront Snow, Winter Wonderland on Ice and Polar Express are.

That is correct! I'm glad they extended a few of the shows. Also, if you have time and are interested, check out A'Lure, The Call of the Ocean, as January 3rd is the LAST day it will be running.
