We are going to Orlando for our first Thanksgiving, and were thinking about trying to make our first trip to Seaworld on Friday. I've heard Disney is a little crazy that day, but was hoping the crowds at Seaworld might be more manageable. Would it be a decent day to go, or should we wait for another trip when its maybe not so crowded (we're going back to Orlando in late April).

Thanks.

We are going at the same time and are looking into hitting SW. Anyone know about the crowds and what would be a good time

Doesn't anyone have some experience with Sea World over Thanksgiving weekend?:confused3

Hi, my family and I were there last Thanksgiving break. We did SW on thanksgiving with the VIP tour thinking it was going to be packed but it was dead empty. We did DC the Friday after and went back to SW over that weekend and by the time Sat. rolled around the parks were much, much more crowded. We then moved over to Disney that monday until that Saturday and it was pretty empty there also. Hope that helps.

We are planning on going to Sea World the DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING....I wonder if that will be a good choice? We fly home from Disney on Thanksgiving evening. We don't want to be there for that holiday weekend. We arrive Disney on the evening of the 14th for 8 nights so we plan on doing everything Disney and last full day Wed. ......going to Sea World. I hope this will be a good decision.

We're arriving in Tampa the day after Thanksgiving and are planning to do Sea World on Sunday, and then the Disney parks Monday through Friday (two days at EPCOT). I can't wait! Nice to hear that things really do quiet down a bit starting on Sunday.

That is our exact plan as well (except for two days at Epcot). I was hoping that Sea World would be quiet on Sunday and WDW should be quiet by Monday. :)

Becka, I couldn't agree with you more! My mom and I are doing SW that Sunday and Disney Monday & Tuesday, as well. Hope crowds are low in both places:goodvibes

We have been that Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend 3 times (two, four and six years ago) and will be doing the same this year. Disney is a bit nuts that whole week (we are staying through the following week) so those days are good for SeaWorld generally. Just be sure to plan to arrive at the shows early enough to get it - they will shut you out! Even if it's crowded, SeaWorld is easy to get around - just mostly show timing becomes the issue so pay close attention - you can get a tentative schedule on their website and plan it in advance!

They are decorated for Christmas too which is done pretty well.

Thanks so much for the information. I think we are going Tuesday two days before Thanksgiving.

The days leading up to and especially Thanksgiving are usually quiet at Sea World and a lovely time to be there. Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can expect a lot of crowds.
