Seaworld annual pass discounted tickets for family

I'm looking at different options for our upcoming trip to Orlando, I've looked into getting 1 annual pass for the benefits like free parking, plus it also mentions discounted tickets for friends and family who travel with me, does anyone know what the prices would be?

It varies. Sometimes it is $20 off, sometimes it is 50% off, sometimes they give an offer for a free ticket for a friend....

Right now (for Orlando) it is "Surprise your friends and family by bringing them to SeaWorld® to enjoy the 50th Celebration with you. Pass Members save 50% on a single-day ticket to SeaWorld Orlando for your friends and family now through January 31, 2015. Must have an active SeaWorld Orlando 1-Year, 2-Year or Platinum Pass to qualify for discount. Pass Member must be present for guest holder to gain admittance."

I have also been investigating this option - do you know, when it says "active" pass, does that mean the pass holder has to have already been in the park once before ordering the family+friends tickets? Or can you activate the annual pass before first entry somehow?
