The port you sail out of for a cruise can be just as exciting as the ports of call on the cruise. Many Alaskan cruises set sail from Seattle, Washington, and there is much to enjoy there both before and after your time at sea!

Head over to DCL Fan to read this fabulous guide to Seattle and make the most of your time there!

Seattle is a really fun place to spend a couple of nights before heading out on an Alaska cruise!

Is DCL sailing out of Seattle? Or is this a suggestion to include Seattle as part of the PNW trip while sailing out of Vancouver?

DCL is not sailing out of Seattle, but other cruise lines do for Alaska voyages. Many folks heading on an Alaska cruise fly into Seattle.

Back from our Alaksa cruise out of Seattle. I was surprised by the good weather we had in late April. We stayed in a downtown hotel, and we could have walked to most destinations. I was also surprised how the streets have large hills. We ended up taking Ubers because my husband ‘s back would not do well with all the hills. Pikes Market and the Chihuly exhibit are wonderful

We did Seattle before our DCL Alaska cruise. Flew in on points. Stay downtown. Walked everywhere. Then took the train up to Vancouver. Fabulous time. Highly recommend!
