Seat Sale?

I am just wondering what the odds are that either WestJet or A/C will have a seat sale before September? Historically do they have any major sales?

My husband prefers to fly Canadian airlines, so that kind of leaves us with those two options (we don't like Air Transat). We *could* drive to Toronto and fly Sunwing.. we both like them, but Ottawa and Montreal are more convenient.


What is a good "deal" price wise?

There's usually seat sales - you just have to keep an eye out for them. WestJet had a 1 day seat sale to Orlando just last week but it was for travel up until the end of the summer. Air Canada has also already had some sales to Orlando for the fall but they are over. So chances are the time window will open up and there will be another sale. But if you have such limited choices of departure cities and airlines, you probably won't get the best price. Best price I've ever paid for airfare from Ottawa to Orlando was $89 each way plus taxes.

We've found that the US carriers often have cheaper fares than either AC or WJ even with seat sales, plus, for us at least, their flight times are much better. I wouldn't rule them out.
