You are invited to join the Seasonal and Holiday Recipe Swap hosted by VickiV and pretty in tink. The theme is fall and winter recipes, as well as holidays that fall in this time frame, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. We have a category for Cookie Exchange recipes, since they are so popular this time of year. Also, with the popularity of the Secret Buddy Swap with the kids, we will try a kid’s group, either their favorite or something they like to make. You may sign up for as many groups as you would like. We can add more groups as they fill.

REQUIREMENTS: Make enough for every person in your group. Completed recipes must be 8 ½” x 5 ½”. Staples sells the binders and the plastic sheet protectors for this size. Use cardstock and layer at least once plus one embellishment. You can embellish any way you choose, but be C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E!!! Please check in every 2 weeks.

SENDING & RECEIVING: Mail date is no later than October 24, 2007. Mail all 6 copies of the recipe you do. You will get one of yours back. These are due November 3, 2007. Please try to get your package shipped on time so that we can get your recipes returned promptly. We will mail out all swaps on November 7th. 2007.

Label your recipes with your Dis name, real name, category and group number. Put your recipes in a plastic bag larger than the recipes. Individual zip bags will leave lines on the recipes if they are too small. One of us will PM you the shipping address when you are ready to mail them. However you send them, include an envelope and postage for the same amount for return shipping (stamps, cash, check). If you choose priority shipping, we can get priority envelopes at the post office and then do the priority-shipping label online to get free delivery confirmation for you. Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

We hope to do another swap for spring holidays and seasonal recipes at the beginning of the New Year. Then we will try to have it be a quarterly swap.

Please let me know if I’ve forgotten anything.

You know I can never resist a recipe swap! I'll be needing a 3rd binder at this rate!

Can you put me down for a place in each cookie swap - I'll have school dinner cookies for one (an old English recipe - one of the few nice things I remember from school!) and chocolate peanut butter cookies for the other. And for the seasonal swap can I have butternut sausage pasta.

That'll do me for now:goodvibes

Put me down for one Holiday Cookie and One Kid's recipe. I'll get back to you after lunch with the recipes.

Please add me to both the cookie exchange groups: chooclate mint sticks and cherry coconut clusters. Please add me to the Holiday recipe group and the fall/winter group. I will get back to you with my items.

Rebecca

Could you please add me to both the cookie exchange groups. I will get back to you with recipes.

For the cookies - Santa's Whiskers.

For the children's - can it be with parental help on the oven or kid totally?

If oven help okay - Slammin'Jammin' Berry Bars.

Sure, oven help is ok.

Updated to here. Also added more cookie exchange groups.

As a co-hostess I should totally know this, but are the kid recipe cards made by the kids or is it recipes that kids can make but moms make the cards? Hope that makes sense, and this should let anyone else wondering the same thing get the answer too

I'll take another cookie exchange spot please

I was going to let him help me design them and then I would mass produce it. He likes scrapping, but making that many of the same one would bore him and I want him to keep going to Mommy"N"Me crops.

Wow, lots of great options! I would love to do a cookie recipe and a kids recipe (something I will design and make with my DD's input). Thanks for hosting these sound awesome!:cool1:

I figured moms would be helping the kid do the cards or supervising them if they are older. I think it's great that a kid wants to be creative. If Mom wants to make the cards, that's fine with me too. Because of the category, I'm hoping people won't be upset if things aren't perfect.

I suppose if someone had a kid friendly recipe, like edible play doh or something, but didn't have any kids, that they could sign up for kids recipes too. I know there are a lot of teachers here that probably have files full of recipes for kids.

Hi everyone. I don't mind doing a kid recipe. I thought pretty in tink was signing up for one too, but she didn't post it. Do you want to keep the kid swap as just 2? Would you like pretty in tink and I to do recipes for that category too? Would you like to just drop the category? Or would you like to combine it in the extra spots in another category?

Also, I deleted the menu category and added those recipes to other categories. Hope that will be alright with everyone.

It's okay with me if you want just drop the kids group. I haven't told them yet, so what they don't know won't disappoint them any.

I can join the kids group to help fill it up. I can always use the recipes with my class if I want. I will have to look for a recipe in a couple of days though for my spots. Things are slowing down but i have a couple busy days getting my swap mailed out.

i can do kids spot, just need to figure what recipe to do
and i don't mind filling in in a group that is short, i'll just put the duplicate set in my daughter's book she is getting for Christmas, she'd love it

You can put me down for easy fairy cakes in the kids one if you like - DS(7) loves making (and eating!) these

I'm fine with the menu and fall combnation (if you see what I mean)
