Season/Month Sailing Preference?

Greetings fellow Disers! I was just curious to know what the opinions are on sailling during different times of the year. My family and I took a 4 night cruise in July, the ship was crowded but the seas were pretty calm (TG). We are considering taking a cruise in January or maybe May. Any suggestions?

May was an awesome time to cruise...late april, early may......I would never cruise in Jan again...it is much cheaper but it is also not warm enough for me to be comfortable swimming....I do not like going into water that has a shock factor LOL!! And laying around CC in my sweatshirt is not my idea of a "beach day".

Been on 7 and 4 night cruises both 3rd week of May.Smooth seas and great weather. We did a 3 night cruise in January with 12 to 20 foot swells.Never again

We did early May this year on the Wonder and it was just perfect. Temps were warm but not sweltering. Seas were overall calm. I currently have a January cruise booked but I did so with much trepidation. I'm seriously thinking about pushing it forward to April/May...

Actually, I have to say that we cruised in Jan. this year, and the weather was great for us. We were on the 3-night Wonder, and loved it. Liked it so much that we are doing the 4-night again next January!

It depends on what you are used to. We loved January and have cruised twice in January and will do our next cruise in January as well. It was quite warm and we could swim at every port and on the ship each day. CC was high 70s and I was in the water with my son. No sweatshirts for us or anyone else really. The water was nice, but then again we are from the Northeast and ocean water temps don't really get that warm, so it was great for us. Seas were fine except for the first night going through the Gulf Stream. Have a great trip.

Our first cruise was in Jan 02 and we are going again this Jan 06. We loved it, the weather was fine, CC was PERFECT and nothing was too hot.

We are from Chicago so unless there is a film of ice on the water, we are fine!
