Searching for a cruise by cabin number?

Is there a way to search for a cruise if you want a specific cabin number and aren't too worried about the specific date? I've tried looking at every Dream cruise over the next several months to see if a specific cabin is still available, but that takes forever.

Thank you.

I doubt it. Selecting a cruise based on whether you can get a specific room isn't high on the search criteria when looking for cruises.

You've never met my son. 7586 on the Dream is now "our" room, and we're only allowed to stay in that one from now on. The room is not my biggest priority, but I'll do my best to meet his desires.

I'm not saying it not high on your priority, but, generally, it's not really a criteria that runs high for most people.

Yeah, that isn't how most guests pick cruises. If there's a certain stateroom you absolutely must have and no other will do, you will need to keep looking until you find a cruise where it's available. Maybe get a travel agent to check for you.

My recommendation is to have a TA work on it. It's possible that they have a way to contact DCL to find the information. Or, at the very least you're not doing all the grunt work.

I would also say plan as far out as possible. Opening day or as soon as possible thereafter and you're more likely to get the stateroom you want.

Here's another thought - what if you take a cruise on the Fantasy (in a different room)? After all, you can't have the "same" room on a different ship, right?

Maybe he'd figure out the rooms are really pretty much the same.

If you book early enough, it shouldn't be too hard to get "your" cabin.

July 8th 3 night Bahama cruise. You might want to take a peek at deck 7. :)

The rooms basically all look the same, especially in the same category. Do a Google images search and show him the pictures. Once he sees they look just like your room, he might be more flexible.

Just call up DCL and ask them to look for you. I am sure they have the capability to find a specific cabin for you.

Thank you for all of the replies, and I know that all of the rooms are the same, but for some reason my son (8yrs) really wants to stay in the same room, 'cause you know, it's OUR room now...

I understand OP. Our DD15 is addicted to 8188 - it's the only cabin we've stayed in (4 cruises). She would do another cabin if we had to. But I bet she'd get lost or go to 8188 more than once mistakenly.

YES! This, exactly this.

Keep in mind that the DCL website does not show you all available cabins in a category, just a selection. It used to be that you could manually search if the cabin number you wanted was available for that cruise, but this appears to have disappeared now...

Perhaps the OP could ask the child if they would like to cruise at all if that cabin wasn't available. Is it that cabin or no cruise at all? Put that way the child might be willing to compromise.

Understand the "our room" thing, as our cabin of choice on the classic ships is 8508, while on the newer ships it is 5536 (yes, those are the cabins that we have been in on all 4 ships). It is nice to just know what you are getting in an exact cabin.

I agree with some of the others. Have a travel agent find the cruise for you based on the cabin number in a timeframe you'll be willing to travel in.
