Search Function

Hey everybody! I just had a quick question, I was trying to use the search function on the forum and it doesn't seem to work. Anyone else have this problem? How do you use it? Thanks!

You have to use the Advanced Search function to get it to work - and even then sometimes it doesn't! But it worked for me just now...

Thanks for your help, but that still didn't work. Do you have to have a cetain # of posts or something in order to be able to search? Thanks for your help!

Nope - I used to search here all the time before I signed up. Let's see... so you're clicking search and then advanced search and then advanced search again so that you get the window where you select which forums to search? I've found that sometimes if I search something that is too general, like, I dunno, "Disney Dining," it gets so many results that it poops out and won't give me anything at all.

Alternatively, you could ask on the tech boards about it. I know there's a running thread about all the problems people have with the search function...

Well thanks for trying, perhaps it is something wrong with my compter? When I try searching, nothing shows up on the screen, not even a "0 results" or anything. Maybe I should try it in the library at school or something. Im not sure what the problem is! Thanks again.

I was having that issue as well, and found a post somewhere on the boards that suggested that the search function only works when you're using the "California Gold" style for the background colors.

Mine seems to work pretty good since I've done that! Not 100%, but much better than before!

You can change the style on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It's that little drop down box thingie. <--- technical term

I use google now.

Just include site:disboards.com in your search term & it usually works.
