DD put a stuffed Pooh on her Christmas list back in October. Around the beginning of November DH comes home with a small Pooh from TDS on sale for $10. I wrap it. About 4 days before Christmas, DD and I are out shopping and she says "Mom I can't wait to get my GIANT Pooh bear". Uh-Oh, I tell DH she wants a big Pooh, saw them at TDS on sale for $20, he says I will pick up. Drives to the mall no big Pooh left, only Santa Pooh. Comes home the next day with a $20 Pooh from Blockbuster, now the box says Disney, but it just looks kind of chintzy. It has on a red shirt but no stitching that says "Pooh", I just don't like it. Soooo on Christmas Eve after work DH decides he will try once again at first mall for big Pooh, he calls ahead, they got the Pooh, he drives there -- no Pooh. They call other mall and tell him they have the Pooh, he drives to other mall -- no Pooh. BUT in the display they have a HUGE $130 Pooh. He tells them I'll give you $50 for that Pooh. They say it is going on sale soon, you can have it for $60. Finally she gets the Giant Pooh and is so happy! It's her favorite gift. Now I still have a small and medium Pooh. Some Pooh is getting returned tomorrow for sure!

Ours is titled the story of why you must be careful what you buy on the internet. Our DS (age 7) collects classic video games. (There's a series by Namco.) He already had volumes 1 - 4, but asked Santa for volume 5 for Christmas. Now, we, being over-planners, found and purchased volume 5 from a seller on E-bay way back in August. It arrived, well-wrapped and in good shape, and I put it away for Christmas. Flash forward to this morning when a deliriously happy DS puts his Namco Volume 5 in the Playstation only to see it read, "Please put compatible game disc in console." Uh-oh. So, I look again and remember that I purchased this from a seller who lived in the U.K. I read over the booklet and see, "This merchandise is formatted to European consoles and is compatible only with merchandise sold in Europe."

So, I explained that Santa apparently shops all over the world and made a little mistake that I think (hope, pray) we can quickly fix. I got on to E-Bay (the only place in the world where I have ever seen this particular game) and, miracle of miracles, there is a brand new one being sold by someone who actually lives, not only in the U.S., but in our section of the country. I bought it -- $59 with expedited shipping, and we're looking forward to hearing from Santa any day now about the replacement. (He's going to send it UPS since he has let the reindeer have the rest of the month off.) So, we will have the whole set of classic arcade games with one that is even usable in Europe, should we ever wish to take our Playstation there. :)

Cute story and one to remember for future need. :)

My war for a Spiderman DVD

I got a tip from my sister that my kid brother would love a copy of Spiderman on DVD(He borrowed a copy I had the weekend before from the libray and watched it twice in one night, good sign). When I got to Wal-Mart and electronics there where no copies left.I must have scanned the shelfs of DVD's for ages when low and behold a copy peeked from behind Count of Monte Cristo(weird I think).Ca-ching,I grab, pay and off I go.One very happy kid brother today

11 DD loves the Bratz dolls. There are 5 of them. She has 4 of the dolls, the blonde Chloe is nowhere to be found. Still haven't found her.

Wanted to get a HM Clue game at DISCON since the kids have been asking for this since last August. To my great disapointment they were sold out. :( I'll just have to keep taking trips back until I get it. (My present to myself ;) )

Never did get the zip zaps even after searching (and re-searching) every radio shack in a 5o mile radius! Will get them some day...sure they will be all over the place in a while.

Hines Ward jersey. He's a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. DD asked for it, even told me where I could find it at the Outlet Mall. I hate the Outlet Mall - forgot all about the Jersey until about 10 days ago. She told me about the Jersey back in Sept........

The Outlet Mall store has no Hines Ward jerseys in stock. Seems that he's a very popular and good player. I frantically search other malls. No luck. I get on internet and find a store, have to shell out extra $$$$ for sales tax and shipping charges but the Jersey was under the tree on Christmas morning!
