Hi! We're going to be staying at CSR....Can we go to WL to rent a SeaRaycer? Also, we're thinking of renting for an hour....we have an infant & 2 older kids....my hubby & I will have to split the ride time (take turns riding with the 2 older ones/watching baby)....Do they allow you to split the time like this?

Any experiences with renting these or any other watercraft at WDW is welcome....Do you think it would it be more fun to rent a pontoon type boat....maybe we would enjoy that more....being together as a family....we DO like thrills so if the SeaRaycer is Quick then I'm sure the older kids would like that better but (?) I have NO experience with any watercraft rentals! Thanks for any & all advice!!

I would like to know also. I have a lunch scheduled at WCC and was planning on going to CR to rent these but if they are available at WL that would be so much better. Since we are on the package we'll have the coupon so how much are they? We want an hour and two racers. How far in advance should we call and reserve?

You do not have to be staying at WL to use the marina rentals there. Yes, you can come back to the dock and swap drivers (swapping is prohibited out in the lake).

we paid ~$23 for 30 minutes. I can't remember the pricing for longer periods but the per minute rate is less for longer rentals. I don't know that they take reservations for the Sea Raycer rentals. You can walk up as the boats steadily return to the docks as their the rental time expires. We rented them on July 3rd and there was no waiting.

Great, I will rent from there. After lunch we'll just hop on a racer. Can't beat that. Thanks.:thumbsup2

I believe also that with the magic your way package (if you booked that way) you can get 90 mins for the price of 60 with a coupon that will come with your luggage tags, etc.

This is what we plan on doing in Sept.

OT-but do you need to change into swim clothes to ride these sea racers. just wanted to check on how others do this. Thanks so much for the info!

We will be going to CBR in August and got the coupon. Does anyone know how much 60 minutes would be?

I THINK its around $50 (48 rings a bell) but I could be wrong if they have gone up recently.

Some tips that Ive found out...rent at the Contemporary (theyre the fastest) and wear something you dont care about getting wet. While you wont get soaked you might get splashed if youre fooling around.

Unfortunately, No I didn't book a magic your way ticket but that coupon sure would be Nice! Anyone have one laying around that I can use?:beach:

I also heard that the Contemporary SeaRaycer's are the fastest. Does anyone know whether the WL ones go at a good speed?....I will get highly annoyed if we are just poking along!

Thanks for the great tips, keep em' coming!

OOH I found some new stuff in w/the smilies, have to try it out!:
:wishtwenty
lost 20 & have Kept it off.....
GO ZUMBA!!!!!

Are there weight limits on the boats??

Just this past June we rented a Pontoon boat from CR while we were staying at POR. We rented it for 1 hr and it roughly cost us about $60 give or take a few bucks (don't really remember because my DH paid while kids and I walked around). It was probably one of the best ideas we had while at Disney because we got to see and take pics of MK without even stepping inside the park. We got to ride it all over the Bay, we rode from FW to GF. None of us wore swim wear but it is a much dryer boat than the SeaRaycers. I would definately do this again.

The SeaRaycer boats at the MK resorts are all the same.

Yes, there is a weight limit. I seem to recall it's around 300 lbs./boat.

Funny... It may be specific to SeaRaycers, but on the list of rules we had to sign off on before renting them there is an explicit prohibition against taking photos out on the lake(s)!
