I haven't thought about these for years, but still have the unit sitting in a drawer in my kitchen. Does anyone remember the old Dazey Seal-A-Meal units & bags? You could seal stuff, freeze it & then cook by either putting the bag in boiling water or in the microwave.

From something I read on the Internet, they were bought out by Rival & are now called Micro-Seal. Does anyone have one . . . or at least know where to get the bags - like maybe Wal-Mart? I found a place on the 'Net, but want to get them quickly.

I just had this idea of doing a bunch of meals for my parents. (Mom's quite ill - too sick to cook most of the time & Dad never learned.

Thanks!

I have a Tilia vacuum sealer that I use all the time. I usually make up 5-10lbs of hamburger as chili or sloppy joe and then freeze in meal size servings. I also will cook and cube chicken or beef and cube and freeze to be added for a quick dinner. It's a big timesaver for me. I've been able to send meals to my sister's family when she was ill and it was an easy way for them to have hot meals without much fuss. I've seen the bags for the tilia at walmart, k-mart, target and sam's club. I would think they'd be pretty standard. Hope you can find them---- I know your parent's will appreciate the meals.
