Seagate GoFlex or Western MyBook?

My son has a youtube channel that's growing and now wants new 'toys'.

He has asked his more techno Dad for a HDPVR, which is good 'cause don't know what that's for, but I've been asked to get an external hard drive ~around 1TB.

Reading the Amazon reviews have got me dizzy. There are complaints about both external drives but consumer reports have them neck and neck.

My son will be mostly saving music stuff and his youtube gaming stuff.

Any help, thoughts or comments would be appreciated for this single mom who has fallen behind the techno curve a long time ago!

We have a Seagate Goflex we got back in August. It's a 2TB usb 3.0 one we got from Sam's Club and we like it quite a bit. Seems fast and has backup software that we were looking for. Hope that helps
