If you could only do one restaurant during your HH stay......a seafood restaurant....which would you do.....within WALKING distance?????

Walking distance takes away my personal island favorite, but if it's the case, I would do Scott's Fish Market. I enjoy the selection a bit better than Kingfisher, the other seafood restaurant within close walking distance. Ocean Grille is the other seafood choice at the opposite end of Shelter Cove, but I can't speak to it as I've never been there.

Regards

If you are limiting it to walking distance, I too would choose Scott's Fish Market. The Ocean Grill is great too.

If you want Italian within walking distance, go to the place in Shelter Cove Mall. It is really good too.

What's your island favorite? I love HHI and always looking for seafood resturaunt recommendations.

Sea Shack! It does look like a shack, but the seafood is excellent and at a very reasonable price!!

Well.. there are a number of them just over the bridge. We are not seafood lovers, but we tried Kingfisher's (first over the bridge). It was okay, not great... good service and decent food... I hear about Scott's all the time though... just a minute walk further... You will have at least a half dozen choices within a couple minute walk...

When you check in the front desk shuld give you an area restaurant guide which offers menus of many area restaurants. We use this help narrow down our choices. We loved Hudson's seafood (driving distance) and also the pizza place in the shopping center with Piggy Wiggly. I think the name was Guiesspe(sp?) Good NY/NJ style pizza!:thumbsup2

We just took our first trip to HH & had lots of really good food, but we are no experts since we've just gone once. The one place we went that was within walking distance was Parrot Cove. It's just on the other side of the marina mixed in with some shops. It is pretty much a hole in the wall, but we went for the all you can eat crab legs, & they were awesome!! We had a really neat waiter, too!

thanks for the information--I have been looking for menus/recommendations for Scott's. DD had also specifically asked for crab legs, so we will also consider Parrot Cove.

Going in 16 days--can't wait.

Just an observation...Parrott Cove looked like a ghost town :confused3 the three nights we were walking around there. That sort of scared us away. Scott's was packed (good sign) and according to DH--had a really good menu. If we had another night, we would have tried that place; it also had some good choices for me, aka 'nothing from the sea.':)

We tried Kingfisher with friends and not only did I not care for the menu, but it just seemed kinda run down . For example, the wall next to where we were seated was buckling and the paint peeling. To me the whole place smelled like a public restroom. JMO!!!! So, DH and I, along with our kids, left and went to San Miguel's--also in Shelter Cove. I had a couple of bad meals  during the week and although our friends (who we left behind) said Kingfisher was good, I wasn't up to gambling again.
:scared:

We thought that Scott's was great, the mexican was awful!!
