I thought I would summarize the Sea World portion of our trip for those that are interested. We visited Sea World on October 17. We are DH, DD 13, DD 8, and me. My DD 13 spent 9 days in Orlando last year for the WWOHP opening, so she had been to Sea World. The rest of us had not.

I purchased a package through the Sea World website for a four night stay at the Residence Inn, tickets to Sea World, all day dining at Sea World, tickets to Busch Gardens, and all day dining at Busch Gardens. The total cost for that was around $800, which I thought was good considering we are technically 3 adults one child.

We checked in to the Residence Inn on Westwood Blvd. Sunday evening, October 16. We stayed in a studio suite which had 2 queen beds, kitchenette, sofa, standard bathroom. It was very clean and had tons of room! We were able to walk to Sea World on Monday - it was about 15 minutes or so. The hotel does offer a shuttle, however, we wanted to get there before the shuttle was scheduled. The hotel also offers free breakfast with a variety of hot and cold items, and they vary from day to day.

We arrived at Sea World for opening. I had printed my tickets at home and was able to run them through the kiosk. The tickets printed for Sea World, dining at Sea World, and dining at Busch Gardens. The same tickets were used for SW and BG.

We started at Manta - it was down at park opening, so we headed over to feed the dolphins. It was $7 for five fish, and I was able to go with my DD's and not purchase fish. They allow an adult to go with the kids, and you can take pictures. They do warn you that salt water ruins your camera - just have to be careful. I paid for both of my girls to feed the dolphins, and it was very cool. The dolphins were very patient with my DD8 who was a little hesitant. I got some good pics.

We went to the Blue Horizon show after. Wow! Amazing show - not to be missed! After the show my DD and DH rode Kraken and Manta and we went to the One Ocean show. Again, very well done. There were only two shows for One Ocean that day, so it was packed. Get there early!

We ate at Seafire Inn. The food was really good, we were able to get our wrisbands for dining at the restaurant, and we had almost no wait. After lunch we did some more exhibits and did the Seymore and Clyde show. This is such a fun show.

We were able to see everything and ride all of the rides. We finished our day at Voyagers Smokehouse - again a good meal. We were there from open to close and felt like we saw and rode everything, but the park was not crowded. There were only four shows that day, and we saw three of the four. I could easily see spending another 1/2 day in the park just to go back and spend more time watching the animals. The atmosphere of the park is so laid back that it's easy to lose track of time just observing the animals. We loved Sea World and would go back again in a heartbeat.

If you have questions feel free to ask. The dining was a great deal as a part of the package.

Thank you for your report. My children and I fly out tomorrow afternoon for our Sea World trip. Glad your family enjoyed your time there. What time did you line up to feed the dolphins? That is at the top of my list for our first day.

We did the first feeding at 9:30. We lined up around 9:10, and we were in the first group to go in. They do offer feedings at several times during the day, but it's a little limited. It is a lot of fun!

Thanks, I figured it was best to head there first. I read they are not as hungry as the day goes on. My dd says she would really like to do this. We'll see what she does when the opportunity is actually presented to her. She figures we are going at some point. She doesn't know we are going this week.

So glad you enjoyed your day. SeaWorld is our favorite Orlando park -- a must do for us on every trip.

Great report, we will be going in March and I have been reading the boards for tips as we have never been to Seaworld. It will be my DH, DD 8, DS 3, me. You had a lot of good information, thanks for posting!

We are going on a Sunday at the end of March (Spring Break) and have all day dining as well. What do you mean you got wristbands? Do you need to make reservations ahead of time at the restaurants?

Very nice trip report!

:)

The only place that you can make reservations is Sharks.

The wristbands are to show you are the dining plan.

How was the walk from the Residence Inn to Seaworld, were there clear walking paths? Was it difficult crossing bigger roads? Was the path lighted for the walk back?

Conceivibly how long would you need to give this park justice? It has been quite awhile since I have visited and was thinking maybe we could fit this in on our arrival day. We would get to park around noon or 1pm. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for this small report! I've been looking every where for this kind of personal information. I am taking my kids on April 10th and we are all looking forward to it. :cool1:

We went on January 2nd and January 5th. We purchased Quick Queue passes for January 2nd to help deal with the New Years crowds. We spent one full day and one half day, and easily could have filled the second half of the second day if we didn't have other places we needed to be. I would say two days in order to "see it all". Its a wonderful park......a great place for families.

Lots of pics and a summary of our two days at SeaWorld can be found in my trip report over on the Canadian board:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2864779

Pages 2 and 4 feature the SeaWorld days :goodvibes .

About the dolphin feeding, head over there even if you do not want to feed the dolphins. We didn't know anything about it and just happened to wander over to the viewing area first thing. We had a great view of the dolphins as other people fed them. (One of my kids does want to do the feeding on the next trip however).

Great trip report. Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your SeaWorld day. It's our favorite Orlando park. // Like you said, we can usually get everything we really want to do in, in one full day and usuallly come back for another 1/2 day later in the trip just for fun to see the few things we didn't get too and see a couple of favorites again.
