I was thinking of going to Sea World during our trip. Is it worth the money to see fish? I have a DD7 and DS2. I think they would enjoy Sea World more than Universal or IOA. We've been to Universal before. We were not that impressed, it's nice, but it's no Disney. Any useful info about Sea World would be appreciated. Thanks

P.S. I leave in 11 days :Pinkbounc

Just bumping you over to the SeaWorld board. :)

Hello, my children have been to three sea worlds (orland, san antonio and san diego). They always enjoy Sea World. It has been the longest since being at Orlando one so I'm not up to date on what is there but in general my kids have enjoyed: Shamu Show, Seal and Sea Lion Show, Dolphin Show, visiting the Clydesdale Horse barn, the Sea Ray and Dolphin touch tanks if you do it early before it becomes a mob scene. The sea worlds in SA and SD had large play grounds for the kids to explore and some kiddie rides, not sure about Orlando. The one thing I would not recommend doing is a "breakfast with shamu". We did that in SD and thought it was a waste and quite amaturish compared to how WDW runs a character type breakfast, food was bad too! Overall I think Sea World is nice for young kids.

Sea World is so much more than just "fish" (whales & dolphins are mammals by the way - ha,ha!) We absolutely love Sea World, and so does our 19 month old baby. We love anything to do with marine life, and so it's an awesome park for us because it's not only educational, but fun as well. Plus, I am obsessed with penguins, and this is probably the only place where I can touch my fav animal! Based on the ages of your kids, they would probably really enjoy Sea World a lot - especially the dolphin & whale interaction.

That being said, we aren't huge ride people, so if you compare it to Disney or Universal for rides as I hear many people do, then you may be disappointed, but if you look at it as a place where you can interact with marine animals, then it's a great value in our opinion. I guess you really need to prioritize what your family likes to do, and then you can tailor your expectations to fit this if possible - more specifically, for us this park exceeds our expectations because our priority is interaction with the animals at Sea World, and not fancy rides or attractions - we visit Disney or Universal for those. Seeing as how your kids are younger, they are probably going to thoroughly enjoy seeing dolphins, penguins and whales for example more than going on a ride that lasts a few minutes or a few seconds in some instances!

Good luck with your decision, Tiger

I think the first time we took our DD to Sea World she was 7 and to this day, she would rather go to Sea World than WDW! :)

My 6 year old loved a show there and for the life of me I cannot remember the name, but it was trained animals (dogs, cats, birds, pigs, etc) and they put on an entire show on their own. It is amazing what they do with these animals, and they are all adopted from local shelters! My kids loved Sea World and I remember loving it as much as Disney when I went when I was 7. I loved it even more as an adult. The shows are great and get there early to them because they all have some form of "pre" entertainment that is really great. It is a nice relaxing day and I think they even close at 5 or 6, but you can see all you want before then. Don't miss Sea World if you haven't been. My 2 1/2 year old loved the shows too! Be advised like the poster said above, it's not an amusement park so only a couple of rides, but a great, relaxing, fun, educational day!

My 3 daughters 5,7,and 9 love sea world. We are cruising dcl in May and have three extra days after cruise and my girls all agreed sea world is a must . They love the shamu show, dolphiin show, clyde and seymour show, polar bear expedition, penguins, and especially the huge play area where the kids can run and play jump etc. I say go for it you won't be disappointed.

Our boys (2 & 5) love SeaWorld (we've been to San Antonio and Orlando - Orlando is MUCH better!). We could have easily spent 2 full days there, we went through the penguins and Wild Arctic about a billion times each. In fact, the boys still put on their own Shamu Show at home... one acts as Shamu, the other is the trainer... its pretty hilarious!

SeaWorld is probably on equal footing with the Magic Kingdom in their eyes.
