I am looking for some insight on where to stay. WE have a few days prior to our Disney Cruise, and thought we would do Sea World and Bush Gardens. We have three kids 7, 5 and 3. I think I would like something at least 3 star, a suite type room would be awesome.

Is Sea world do-able in a day what about Busch Gardens?

We will be there Jan 31-Feb 2.

Thanks for some experienced help

If you're staying in Tampa I highly recommend Chase Suites. We've stayed in their 2 bedroom/2 bath suite and love it. They also offer airport shuttle, shuttle to the port of Tampa and free breakfast.

The Residence Inn at Seaworld gets good reviews. I'd check the review board here on the DIS for some possible ideas!

We stayed at the Marriott Grande Vista which is right down the street from Sea World. We never went to Sea World on our last visit, but drove by it every day on our way to the Disney parks.

They have a beautiful resort, and have rroms that range from a single hotel style room to a 3 bedroom condo. I loved it, and my kids keep asking to go back and have a vacation at the hotel!

You can easily do Busch Gardens in a day, we did it in less, in fact we were staying in Orlando, drove over early in the day and were back by 5, saw it all.
We did Sea World also in a day , we stayed across the street at the Renaissance I think it is, got a great deal for the night so we had to do it! We parked in the hotel lot and never had to drive over, just walked over.
Be sure to see the night show there that makes fun of the other shows at the park, its at the Sea Otter and Walrus stadium and only does one show I think at night, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. But see the other shows like the Shamu Believe show and the Dolphin show, that way you can appreciate the night show, anyways, have a great time!

I also love the show with the domestic cats and dogs! It was amazing what they can get the animals to do! When we were there having lunch they were walking the dogs in the park, so we got to stop and pet the dog and talk to the handler about the rescue that they got the dog from.
Sea World is a must for us we just love it. We just bought yearly passes for Sea World!
They offer a fun card online buy one day get the year free! Its worth the price for sure!

We have done Seaworld in less than a day even when it was pretty busy. We always stay at the Nick Hotel for the fun and the pool and the fact that it is a suite. We were about a 15 minute drive from Seaworld. Last time we did breakfast with Shamu and friends which is a really cute character show. The interaction was great and my dd 7 was pulled up onstage. She was thrilled! The food was ok but the experience was great.

I have stayed at both the Grande Vista and the Residence Inn Sea World, and highly recommend either of them :)

We've stayed at the Residence Inn Seaworld and it was really nice. They have a full hot breakfast in the lobby every morning that is complimentary. They have a sand volleyballcourt, a zero-entry freeform pool with a hottub, a basketball half court and a playground structure. The pool bar also has snack type foods such as nachos and fries, as well as a Pizza Hut oven. The rooms were standard Residence Inn, we had a one bedroom suite with living room/kitchen for myself, DH, and our two DD's. They also have "studio" rooms and 2 bedroom suites. It was honestly about 30 seconds of driving time to Seaworld. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend it!

Busch Gardens is one of our favorite parks, and we usually spend two days touring. You CAN see it all in one, but we like to spend time watching the animals as well as tasting some free beer samples ;)

We stayed in the Residence Inn Downtown Tampa and it was HORRID. The staff was rude, they gave away our confirmed room and squeezed us in to the studio room they told me was "illegal" to rent for 4 people when I orginally tried to book it. So much for "illegal" ;)

I know there are several chain motel/hotels near Busch Gardens however, I haven't ever stayed at one.

Have a great trip!

In Tampa we stayed at Embassy Suites near the airport. We rented a car at the airport and when we returned the car (precruise), the airport shuttle drove us FREE to the cruiseport. We got free hot breakfast at the Embassy Suites and had 2 queens and a sleeper sofa, along with a small room with fridge/micro. It was 16th floor and a great view, too, but not of the cruise port.
