We are considering taking a May Disney trip, staying at OKW or SSR:woohoo: . This will be our 3rd Disney trip in about a year and a half. We have stayed at SSR and BWV, loved them both:thumbsup2 . We would like to try other "things" on this trip. We spent the majority of our time at the 4 major parks in the past. This trip we would like to try the water parks and maybe Sea World. Is Sea World worth the time? Looking at the web site it looks like a nice park that can be accomplished in one day. Looks like there is only 3 major rides and several shows. Also, which Disney water park would you recommend- Typhon or Blizzard? We would also like to spend at least one day simply enjoying the resort of choice (currently SSR and OKW are available). My kids are 4 and 7. Any thoughts....? Thanks
PS- As stated, we loved our trip home (SSR) but considering OKW because my goal when I purchased DVC was to vacation at ALL the DVC resorts before deciding a true "favorite". I would prefer BCV (never stayed there) but it is full. Maybe I could get in on wait list?

Sea World is the best park in Orlando from our families point of view. It really is a great place and I highly recommend it.

Water parks we've only done Typhoon Lagoon and we really enjoyed it. I've heard good things about Blizzard as well.

Have a great trip.

Sea World.....best park? Wow! Again, is one day at Sea World enough time for all there is to offer? The park looks small online with only 3 rides and a few shows.

I would think Sea World would be a one day if not half day park, remembering it from my childhood. Though it didn't have rides back in my day, just shows and exhibits.

If you have no car you can get a bus to Seaworld at the TTC.

We did Sea World in October for the first time. We had a nice time, and we were glad we went, but probably won't need to go back for several years. We felt that the shows were not as professional as the Disney Shows. We did love the pet show, Clyde and Seamore was a cute one. The Believe show was abbreviated when we were there because of the recent birth of the whale, so we didn't experience the whole thing. It takes a full day to do Sea World, but we were done by early evening. Our passes were valid for 7 days and my family had no interest in going back for a second day, if that helps any.

My family loves Sea World. I had a blast at Sea World and absolutely loved the shows. But we are a family that likes shows. The big ride as most parks, including Disney don't thrill us. So if you are looking for thrill rides, Sea World isn't for you. It is a full day park in my opinion, especially if you want to see all the sea animals. Loved feeding the Dolphins!

Happy planning. We were thinking of going in May too. Are all the DVC resorts full (besides SSR and OKW)? When are you going in May and what room type are you looking for?

Going the last week in May. We are looking to book a studio to save points. I have plenty but I hoard them for some reason. Actually we are considering taking a 2-bedroom Thanksgiving Disney trip as well so I need a studio to have enough points for both. Anyway as for as studios- SSR and OKW is all that's available. I believe I could get a 1 bedroom everywhere but BCV.

I just booked BWV in a one bedroom for May. 4 months out and got a standard view. I was told there was avialability at VWL, BWV, OKW and SSR for a one bedroom. Hope this helps.

We did Discovery Cove two years ago and it was wonderful. Our ticket also included a week at Sea World. We had done Sea World a couple of years before we did Discovery Cove (got timeshare tickets from Hilton Grand Vacation Club). We found Sea World to definitely be a one day park. We did the Dinner with Shamu and, while the show part was pretty interesting, the food was nowhere near the quality of Disney buffets.

We would do Discovery Cove again in a minute. If the Sea World tickets came with that admission, we would probably do one day at SW. By the way, lunch was included with the DC admission, as were wet suits, snorkles and face masks. You keep the snorkles.

TL is my favorite waterpark because of the wave pool. BB has a very small wave pool, but bigger slides. So if you love the slides, do BB. If you love the waves, do TL. If you have the time, do both. In the summer, we usually hit one water park each day and don't do the parks as much.

We are regulars at Seaworld on our Disney Vacations. Go at least 1 time a year. I have a DD 10 , DS 8 and a DD4 who absolutely LOVE IT! They especially like feeding the Dolphins ( don't mean throwing to the Dolphins either... I mean reaching out touching them and placing the baitfish right in their mouths), feeding the Batrays and the Sealions. The shows are fun for the kids, my kids like the Clyde and Seymore (sp) show, Dolphin show and Shamu the best. As for the rides... there is Kraken and Journey to Atlantis which have 54 and 42 (or 44) height restrictions. Both are very good. The other "kids" rides are over by Shamu. Another attraction that is very very cool is Wild Arctic!

As far as one day we get there right at rope drop and go left (feed Dolphins and Bat Rays, then hit the rides and a couple of shows. Try to make it to AB for lunch at 1:00 for free beer :cool1: and a rest. Then off to Wild Arctic and Shamu. Usaually out of the park by 4:30.

Take a cab it is the fastest and most flexible way to get there. about $40 RT.

Enjoy!

We like the theming at Typhoon Lagoon better (Gilligan's Island Theming) but as my kids get older we are startng to switch to Blizzrd for the better water rides.

Both are very nice and a MUST do from May - Sept.

We also enjoy both water parks. BB is great if you like big slides. It also has a nice kiddie section for the little ones.

TL has an awesome wave pool. It has a nice kiddie section as well and an area where you can walk through a ship and see fish etc.
