We were researching the Sea World Cares child $5.00 tix promo, but can't take advantage of it as we are Canadian. So uncool...

Anyway, upon investigation, we noticed the following:

- Regular Sea World online promo $68.95/adult or child
- Sea World Cares $5.00 child promo $78.95/adult

So, that's a difference of $10.00 more per ticket, plus the $5.00, so that means the child tickets actually cost $15.00/child, and not $5.00.

Of course, this is better than $68.95, but not as great as we thought for those wanting to go for 2 days. As my hubby was told by Sea World this morning, the $5.00 child promo tickets do not count for 2nd day free, but the regular price $68.95 ones do. So, if you divide that by 2, that's $34.47 per day. When you take away the $15.00 cost for the ticket, that's a lot less savings then they are marketing it to be.

Of course, any savings is a good savings, but for those wanting to go a 2nd day, they will have no choice but to purchase a regular price child ticket for that day, and so that will negate any savings. So, basically the $5.00 Sea Cares program is only best is used for 1 day entries.

Hope this helps someone, Tiger :)

That's pretty much how coupons, discounts and specials work everywhere, they'll give you the $5 tickets but you have to pay full price for the adults.

Not in my experience, it's not. I honestly didn't realize this until I looked at the price chart.

I guess people will have to do the math and figure out if it's worth it. For those only going 1 day, it will be much better.

I just thought some people might find this info helpful. Thanks, Tiger :)

I found a code online ( search for the McDonalds Orlando Code for Seaworld ) and saved $10.00 a ticket online at Seaworld. These are the 2 day tickets too.
I do think you have to use the tickets by a certain date( Aug. 31, 2010)

Sorry, I can't remember the code word I used.

Thanks - I'll do a search to see if it's a public code, Tiger :)

especially with theme parks you get to pick your discount, but you don't get to stack it.

right now at disney a fl resident can buy a 3 day ticket for 99$ or a 4 day ticket for 99$... sure the four days sounds nice, but they have to be used by may 25th, however the 3 day pass is good for 6 months from first date of use. Pick you choice... and use what works best for you.

:thumbsup2

Theme parks in the area do this all the time. Disney just offered a "free" gift card, but you had to pay full(non discounted) rate for the room.
