Just wondering if anyone has been to Sea World recently....how is it for little ones? The last time we were there was before we had any children. Now we have three, ages 5, 3, and a baby. We are thinking of going on our next trip for a day this fall. How is it now? I remember several of the shows, kraken roller coaster, journey to atlantis.... but how about the rides and play area for little ones? What about lunch, any suggestions? What do your little ones enjoy most at Sea World? Thanks in advance!

They have put in a kids area with a mom and baby changing/nursing area. Have not been in my youngest was 5 but we spent plenty of time on the new Shamu roller coaster in the area. Also they have this huge rope climbing structure, a few water items, a ride that is like a hot air balloon.

We also had a great time feeding the dolphins and seals. To me it was so gross but I laughed all the time doing it.

There is a pets ahoy show my kids have seen at least 5-6 times. Every time we go we are with new family or friends and all enjoy it.

I personally love the dolphin/whale show it is breath taking in my opinion.

IMHO Sea World is great for little ones. We have been taking my DS since he was 2 (he is now 7) and DD (now 2.5) since she was 5 weeks old.

Beyond the obvious animals to look at, the shows are amazing. My 2yo will happily watch the shows.

Shamu's happy harbour is great - infact they have extended it (doubling the number of kids rides) since we were there last.

Bring swimsuits / towels / changes of clothes for the kids. Many opportunities to get wet!

They have a new Elmo show. Personally I did not like it, but the 2YO did and that is what counts.

They have a kids station where you can rent strollers and purchase things that you may have forgotten or run out, such as diapers.

Lots to see and do.

I think there is so much there now, that it is at least a 1.5 day trip almost a 2 day trip to explore Sea World properly.

I second this (especially the swimsuits)...the kids love the place and frankly, so do Mom & Dad!

We are really looking forward to returning to Sea World! I am encouraged to know that there is so much for little ones, so now I am even more excited to visit! I will definitely bring the extra clothes and swimsuits!

Any recommendations on places to eat?

Thanks for all of the info! I love hearing more about it...it has been about 6 years since our last visit to Sea World!!!

We love Sharks Underwater Grill. Full service restaurant. On the pricey side, but a great respite from the heat. Make a reservation as soon as you get into the park.

If they still do it, there was an all you can eat BBQ over Easter which I thought was reasonable for the price. It was held down at the private picnic area. Standard BBQ fare, but you could have as much as you want including sodas. Bud was on sale too. You could sit inside or out. Bathrooms were there and handy. It was a quiet respite from the crowds. Also neat was that they put on a disco for the kids.

I think generally the counter service food at Seaworld is OK.

I have heard mixed reviews about the Dine with Shamu though.

Have fun!
