ORLANDO -- SeaWorld Orlando will be ringing in the New Year with a hike in ticket prices.
Beginning Jan. 5, prices will go up $5 to $74.95. That's the park's third price increase since July 2007.
The new price puts the standard, adult SeaWorld ticket just a nickel below the cost of similar one-day, one-park tickets sold at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.
SeaWorld's parent company also announced price increases for some of its other Florida parks, like Aquatica and Busch Gardens. Kids tickets are going up, too, but multi-day passes are staying the same.
SeaWorld raised ticket prices in July and November 2007.
Disney and Universal each raised their prices for one-day, one-park tickets to $75 last August.
TAMPA -- It will cost you more to go to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island in Tampa.
Just Friday, SeaWorld announced it will hike ticket prices.
The cost of a single-day ticket at both Tampa parks will increase by $2 on Jan. 5 to $69.95 for adults and $59.95 for children.
The company did not hike prices on multi-day, and multi-park passes.
A Busch Gardens spokesman said the company needs to invest in the parks to keep the people coming.
Busch Gardens recently opened Jungala a complex with family rides and wild animals.
Next year, SeaWorld plans to open Manta, a high-tech roller coaster.
