I was checking flights today just to see prices and Alaska has a ton of flights in late Feb. and most of March for $49 each way! HTH someone! :thumbsup2

AHhh!

*Impulse buy, Impulse buy, Impulse buy*

Thanks so much for the tip! That added up to $40 in savings for my family of 4!!! I had already booked our Alaska Air flights, but did a double-check to see if any of my flights happened to be discounted to $49 -- and my return flight was discounted from $59 to $49. I called up Alaska Air and got my price adjusted and received $40 discount voucher for a future flight.

OP, thanks again for passing on this information!!! :flower3:

Hope more people are able to benefit from that. :cool1: Now, should I move to Seattle for the great airfare deals? :confused3

Post back when you get the email with the discount codes, OK? Unless they've switched back their newish policy, you might be in for a little surprise....

Hmmm...sounds intriguing. I haven't received my email with the discount codes yet. I don't know how long it takes for them to get it processed and emailed to me. But now that you have me all curious, I am getting quite impatient waiting!

I'm not telling! Just in case they switched back.

It took them 5 full days to get back with the emailed codes when I went through the process in November. Very low key email from customer.care.reply at alaskaair dot com, no graphics or anything.

Not even a hint??? C'mon! Is it good or bad? What should I expect?

But thanks for letting me know it'll take 5 days.

Unless they changed, last November they started a new way of giving credits. It involved rounding up. Your flights changed by $10, right?

If it's the same as it was in November, and again it was a brand new program in November, you will be pleased.

And if it switched back, please still be pleased, since you'll still get the $10 per person credit. :)

Hi Bumbershoot! :wave2:

You're right about the rounding up. I just got my discount codes from Alaska Air. They gave me a $75 discount for a future fare, where I should be only getting $70. We're very happy with Alaska for doing this!!! :cheer2:

Now the only thing to do is wait...35 more days to go!!!!

JetBlue has lots of dates and flights that are $49 each way too.

When I previously checked out the flights some were still coming up at $149 each way...but last night those had gone back down to $49. :cool1:

Thank you posting this! I just got a ton of money back and I using this as leverage to get my mom to agree to a last minute trip to join us:).

Eek, I'm not flying to LGB in that period, but my flight to LAX RT did come down $10 each way. I'm going to have to call and do the same.

Okay, so whats the deal with Alaska? We booked our flights months ago, and the pricing has come down by like $40 per ticket, but there are no seats available on the flights we are on. So, are we still able to get a credit? Thanks for your help. Tracey

I emailed Alaska with a very similar question (see my post above) and they responded by telling me to call a Price Guarantee agent. Granted that policy doesn't help much, as it's not a lower fare I'm looking for on another airline, but trying to get the cheaper one for the exact same flight they have now. From the sounds of it, they'll grant you a discount credit for a future flight.

Do anyone of you know what number I'd call for getting a discount code?

I just called reservations and the chose "modify/change existing reservation." Our flights had gone down by $120 and they sent me a discount for $150! I can't really complain.

I almost didn't call at all because I had calculated a much smaller difference and thought it wasn't worth the effort. Honestly, it took 5 minutes.
