Who has been lately? Did anyone experience sea lice problems? We are going the 3/9 Magic, and I believe the season for this begins in March generally. Also, we purchased some "Sea Safe". Has anyone tried it? Did it help? Thanks!

We were on the 1/19 Magic also (Hi MickeyMagic!) and we bought some of the Sea Safe lotion with sunscreen and used it. We also didn't see or notice anything after using it, so it either helped or they weren't active then.

I was at the Guest Services desk one evening and over heard a man asking the CM if they had received any reports of a red rash and that he had been swimming at St Maarten. They said no and he said he would see the Doctor the following morning. I don't have any idea if he had encountered Sea Lice or what happened after that, but at the very least it was a coincidence.

I consider it to be inexpensive insurance to guard against having problems with them and I'll use it from now on. I bought mine over the Internet and it was $12 and something plus shipping.

We just cruised on the 2/9 Magic. Went in the water for the Golden Eagle Catamarian at St. Maarten, Coki Beach and Magen's Bay on St. Thomas, and the water at Castaway Cay. No rashes or stings!! Bought the Safe Sea lotion and didn't use it.

On an old post about sea lice there's a phone # for a store in the U.S. that I called and ordered the Sea Safe from. I wish the search worked, I could find it for you. They only charged around three dollars to ship it. It was posted some time in the last few months. Anyone have that info?

When I ordered my Sea Safe stuff I did it through the place their website links to. I searched the Internet to find a discount code and was successful. I used (I think) 1VIP and it was supposed to be for $10 off $35 or more, but I didn't have that much. It gave me free 2nd day air shipping :)

That was good enough for me.

I ordered mine over the Internet from Life Styles Direct and my DW and I used it just to be safer. Here's their link:
Life Styles Direct

Another place is Diver's Discount

A phone number to order direct is 800-34-scuba, which is also from Diver's Discount.

I paid $12.95 plus shipping.

I haven't seen it on the shelf in any stores yet.

Are Sea lice only a problem at CC? Are they in Cayman Islands or Cozumel?

Also, It seems certain times of the year people seem to have problems with them, when have you seen or been bothered by Sea Lice?

I have read post on this also..I also remember being in North Palm Beach area and seeing signs up warning of these little pest. I am fortunate that the company that distributes SafeSea is in my hometown. I made the purchase for my 3/9 cruise just as insurance policy. I do not know if there will be a problem with sea lice, but I surely do not want to find out. When I went to LifeStyles Direct, they told me their products were sold at most beach shops there in Fla. If you are going to be in the port area early, Ron Jons in Cocoa Beach does have SafeSea.

On CC DS7 developed a somewhat painful rash under arms and around upper section. I'm not sure it was sea lice. It was more likely it was from his snorkeling vest. We got him out of the sun and showered him off. A word of advice - bring a children's Benadryl - that'll take care of a reaction as well.

BTW, no other reactions on Trunk Bay snorkeling and DS spent more time in the water there.

In the South Florida area, sea lice can be a problem from @ April to June-July. It occurs when the water begins to warm. Some years it's very bad and others it is almost non-exsitant.
It's like trying to extimate how bad mosquitos will be during the summer---depends on a number of factors.
