Sea Breeze Point, good for an intimate?

*Please keep in mind that my DF and I have never been to any of the resorts, so all of our decisions will be based on photos. The ceremony will take place sometime between 3:00 and 5:00pm (yet another decision!! LOL)

From what we've seen in pictures, we both love the Boardwalk resort, especially because we both love things that are old-timey. I think this place suits us best. I just have two concerns:

1) Is it too big? For only 10 total people and in the daytime, would it seem big and empty? I would prefer to do it at night, with everything all lit up. But I've exhausted all possibilities and know that this isn't going to happen.

2) Is there a lot of foot traffic in the area? I've read on other posts that the walkway to epcot is very close by, and people ride along in their surrey bikes and such, is this correct??

Any light you all can shed is greatly appreciated!! I know I have lots of time before my wedding, but I need to make a solid decision by October 5th (that's when I can finally book it!! woo hoo!)

You sound exactly the way I did in making my decision. I would like to ease your mind a little. I made a trip down there this summer. I was supposed to book the yacht club the morning I was driving down, but they are going to be renovating it, so I had to take a day while I was there and tour the sites. We went to the boardwalk first because the lady on the phone suggested it. We didn't look anywhere else! We loved it!!!

Yes, there is a path, but when we were there, there weren't very many people walking by, so I don't think it is like 200 people will be watching, just a few. We were concerned about the people watching too, but just think of it as - they are looking at me because I am a princess!!

There was actually a wedding that had just finished when we went. There wasn't anyone there, but the chairs were still set up and it was very nice. It did not seem too big at all. I know that the pictures make it look huge, but when we saw it, it was not as big as I had imagined.

The little path also is surrounded by trees and shrubbery. We had thought after looking at it in picutres, that it was open behind it, like maybe there was a courtyard or something on the other side of the path, but there isn't. Just trees. There are some great photo opportunities.

About your time slot, we were decided between three and five as well. Our booking lady suggested five. She said at that time the rain will be gone most likely and it will be cooling down a little. also, we are having dinner afterward, and they typically make their large reservations around 6:00, so that allows us to go straight from the wedding to the dinner. Now, it October, it may be a different story. We honestly didn't know which we were going with the day that we booked. I just asked the lady there and she answered all the questions I had and had a lot of suggestions. They know best usually, so I went with it.

My suggestion is to do an archive search (at the bottom of the page) for seabreeze point. There are a lot of pics and information that was posted when I was asking the same questions. I meant to get some pics when I went, but I forgot my camera in the car. I was sad, but, the car was really far away!

Good luck! I hope this helps some! The view from that place is beautiful! And, you are right, the boardwalk resort is gorgeous.

As usual, you are right there with just what I need to hear! Now I'm really excited about this location! It just feels right. At first, we considered WL, because we both like the rustic ambiance, but I wanted a place where I could feel more girly. Then we chose the Poly, which has a beautiful backdrop (with the the beach and who can resist the view of the castle!), but the tropical setting doesn't really fit our personalities.

These two concerns about the Boardwalk were the only thing holding us back from doing it there. Now I wish I could call and book it today!

My intimate wedding was at SBP last March. It's a wonderful location and it's fun walking down the boardwalk in your wedding attire. You'll get lots of congratulations and well wishes. We were married at 3:00 pm and it was a perfect time. We stayed at the Boardwalk so it was real easy to get ready and plan the day. I also used Randy Chapman instead of Disney photography and he took some beautiful shots around the resort.

I took inloveindisney's advice and pulled up older posts to find pics of SBP. I showed them to my Honey and now we are both really excited!! It has without a doubt, become our absolute favorite!

I wish Disney would have better pictures on their website. They did NOT do SBP justice! They should use those 360 degree cams. Some people spend a lot of money, they should know what they're getting if they aren't able to see it in person before hand. From their ONE teeny tiny picture, I was not very interested in SBP at all. It wasn't until I started seeing pics on here that it sparked my interest.

I really can't thank you all enough!! Without you, I would be getting married in a spot that I was just semi-okay with.

Yes, during next summer, the yacht club gazebo will be under renovation so they will not be hosting any weddings there. I don't know when the completion date is, so I am unsure if your wedding will be open for that site or not.

We are getting married at the wedding pavilion but are having our reception at the Yacht Club which made me wonder if it was just the gazebo or other parts of the Yacht Club being renovated...thanks for letting me know!

We stayed at the Yacht Club in June, and at that time they were working on the exterior area between the main exit from the hotel to the water area and Stormalong Bay. I'm going to assume they are renovating the entire exterior, but I'm not sure when your wedding is or if it will affect you. The ballroom areas are on the opposite side of the hotel from the water, they are off to the side of the Valet area. If you called the hotel I'm sure they could tell you if that area has already been done, or what areas may be still being worked on at the time of your wedding.

Beautiful pics D&R love Disney. You both look so happy. The centerpiece IS beautiful. I saw almost the same one undecorated on Ebay and thought it was awful. Now after seeing what it can look like "dressed up" I may have to start bidding! lol!
