HAS ANYONE DECIDED WHICH DIVE THEY ARE GOING TO GO ON .

MY HUSBAND CAN NOT DECIDE WHICH PLACE HE WANTS TO DIVE.

WHAT IS EVERYONE ELSE DOING?

IT WOULD BE NICE IF HE KNEW SOME PEOPLE DIVING.

Hi Darlene
If you post this on the 5/11 thread I am sure you will find some divers. ScottH and wife are planning dives on both GC and Coz.:)
Although Joanne and I both dive, we will not be diving this trip, but I think I am bringing my stuff anyway...just in case :)

Yup, we are diving at both COZ and GCY...

I am being brave and am going to use the rental stuff offered by the excursion. Just don't want to drag all the gear for a couple of dives. (actually just the BCD's and regs) I hope I am not disappointed. I might change my mind. Will see.

HEY SCOTT,

THANKS FOR THE ANSWER - I THINK HE SHOULD DO BOTH DIVES TOO - MAYBE I CAN TALK HIM INTO IT.

WE HAVE ONE BIG SUITCASE THAT WE BRING HIS STUFF IN - IT IS NOT TOO BAD. WE SPENT ALL T HAT MONEY ON IT - I WANT HIM TO USE IT.

WE ALSO FILL THE SUITCASE WITH SHOES AND STUFF - SO IT IS NOT JUST DIVING STUFF.

HE FEELS MORE COMFORTABLE WITH HIS OWN THINGS AND HE HAS ONLY BEEN DIVING FOR A SHORT WHILE, SO BEING COMFORTABLE IS KIND OF IMPORTANT TO HIM.

I HOPE WE MEET UP - WOW, JUST 13 MORE DAYS - SEE YOU THERE.

BOY, ARE THESE BOARDS GOING TO BE QUIET AFTER THIS TRIP.

DARLENE

I am sure we will meet one and all DIS folks who want to be met.

As a new diver it would be best if he used equipment he was familiar and comfortable with.

I am a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Lynn is a Divemaster. ( it is our part time fun job) We have dove both GCY and COZ and both are great.

Just remember DO NOT to pack a dive knife. It will not be allowed on the ship and yes they xray the baggage. We have a story about this and will tell ya when we meet.

Hi Scott H.,

So do they provide the dive knife in your rental equipment? My husband doesn't like diving without one because it's against the recommended rules as you know. If you can't afford to do both dives which one would you do. Our 15 year old DS will be a new diver just getting his cert right before we go on the cruise.

We have traveled with dive shears AKA - EMT shears they work great and are allowed on the ship.

Both GCY and COZ are very good diving locations. COZ will most likely be a drift dive as there is a current good current there. GCY will most likely be a wall dive. Both have great fish life. I honestly could not say one is better than the other. It kinda boils down to a drift dive vs. a wall dive, both are great.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for the information - we know about the knives. The last time we cruised in March some people were able to get on the ship with their knieves, but when they returned from their dive, they would not let them back on the ship.

See Ya Real Soon.

Your Open Water Certification does not expire. It is strongly recommended that you do a SCUBA review class to sharpen up those skills before you venture into open water. There have been many advancements in diving during the past few years.
