Screw In the Light Bulb-All New x 13 4/25!!

What a great time you are all having! Maddie is beyond cute...as usual:cutie: I love her excitement when she was choosen to play Maurice....:goodvibes

Love both updates!

Maddie is so cute with her new side bangs hairdo! And I LOVE the video of the history of WDW. That's great!

Looks like y'all were taking MK by storm that morning! Glad Maddie got a part at ETwB.

Congrats Maddie on losing your two teeth...hope the tooth fairy was good to you.

Congrats on a Spring trip and taking your baby brother with you.

I love Maddie's Walt Disney story.

We've not done Enchanted Tales with Belle...every time we go by the lines are over 40 minutes long. If we have a granddaughter, we will go then. I'm glad Maddie enjoyed it.

You must do the standby line...it is fabulous.

Cute picture with Ariel (I missed her both times...just where do you get in line for her?

LOVE the Princess Leia costume!:thumbsup2

We arrived at the Magic Kingdom having missed rope drop by about 15 minutes, and for the first time ever we didn’t go directly to Town Square Theater to say hello to princess friends. Maddie is a devout Disney Channel viewer, and all spring and summer they’d played ‘commercials’ of various Disney Channel stars visiting New Fantasyland. Mads had soaked up every minute of it and was determined to get there herself as soon as possible.

I can't fault her logic here.

Because of this I never saw the full magic of the mirror that looks into Beast’s castle, but I got the general idea.

After the doorway magically appeared we made our way into the room with Madame Wardrobe.

I'm guessing the magic door is the coolest part of this.

Maddie must have been a top-notch at shivering that day because she was chosen to play the part of Maurice.

Did you teach her everything she knows about shivering? Take a bow!

A heads up? The suits of armor are chosen from the grown men hiding in the back of the room, so if you look like you really don’t want to participate chances are good that you will.:lmao:

:wave2:

The verdict on the new attraction? “AMAZING! I WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!” Having discovered that the person chosen to play the Beast gets to dance with Belle, Maddie was on a mission to be cast in that role before the trip was over.

Glad she enjoyed it! I can imagine I'd be up for it only if the wait wasn't too long.

We quickly found that most people were confused about what they’d lined up for though and as soon as they realized they were in line to meet Ariel not for the ride they took the chicken exit.

:wave2:

Gimme the ride! :rotfl:

After we'd met Ariel, Bryan took note of the construction going on across the way. The materials they're using are made with Perlite, which his company produces so we stopped for him to take a photo to send to the guys back at the office

Can't wait to see what that ride is like. :hyper:

Back from vacation and now all caught up on your TR! Maddie makes an adorable Alice and princess as usual! Can't wait to read more!

We took a first-timer with us to WDW on our trip last week and it is awesome to see it new and fresh through their eyes!

I love all the updates! Maddie looks so cute with her 2 front teeth missing. I think we'll be there soon with my almost 7 year old! And love the side bangs. Very sophisticated!

The picture of Maddie and Uncle Cory at Wrigley. So awesome.

Her video was awesome. I love her little voice.

Can't wait to see the New Fantasyland! My kids will both want to participate in the show for sure. And my dh may end up being a suit of armor.

So lucky you are going again so soon! And don't feel bad about pulling Maddie out of school. They are still so young. We did it last year when Lucy was in kindergarten, and plan to do it again next fall when they are kindy and 2nd grade.

Can't wait to hear more!

Oh my gosh yay for a new vacation being planned!!! And yay for Uncle Cory coming too!! I’m pretty sure I’ll be down again in May, maybe we’ll meet up!!

Oh my god, like, this video is amazing and Maddie is just the cutest thing in the world. Love the sidebangs, and the Halloween costume! I rocked the Wendy on Friday and got tons of compliments, so thanks for making an awesome costume!!

Glad that you guys liked enchanted tales, and that maddie was chosen to be part of it, how amazing!! Yay!! Love the new aurora dress too! The new ones are so much nicer than the old design!!

Yay for new fantasyland, it really is an amazing and incredible addition to an already magical park and I’m really impressed with it all!!

Super excited to read more!! Yours is the only TR I’ve stopped to read during the trip! Bahha!

Maddie is absolutely adorable in all her pictures. I love her pictures with Belle and Ariel. And that picture of her looking at the castle (even though you can't tell its her) is precious.

Also - fun labor day pictures. Love the ballet outfit and Princess Leah costume.

Yay! :cool1: for booking a spring trip!

Toothless Maddie! Good girl pulling the other one!

So cool that you guys are taking Uncle Cory along! I love love love going with first timers, and first timers you love. Well they're even better.

Princess fashion designer. Good stuff.

She is an incredible Princess Leia. So adorable!

I think that Maddie's version of the Walt Disney Story should be featured at WDW. Only a kid, right?

Of course you had to go to New Fantasyland first!

Jason was a suit of armor, I ended up being the Wardrobe, and Gavin was Philippe in the show. It's so cute, I love it!

July was definitely not our favorite time to visit! I LOVE spring!! But I believe you already know these things!!! ;) How awesome to book a new trip and to take along your brother is great!! The New Fantasyland updates were super!! :goodvibes

Love the update and the real life one. She is getting so big! I am not surprised you were not a fan of WDW in the summer. I thought you were crazy to do it this time. We will probably be taking Kaitlin out of school for a week until at least Grade 5 or 6. That or we'll see a lot of Hawaii at Xmas.

Yay for a new trip being planned already. Looks like we won't get back to anything Dis until November 2014 so I'll be disecting your TR more closely later.

Enjoying your report as always!!!:)

Just love the prima donna! She is beautiful! And, have to love those toothless smiles, it's good she doesn't seem to mind. Looks like she is growing up... I'll miss the bangs! Loving the trip report and all the photos! Don't you just hate when you capture that most wonderful surprise and the picture is all fuzzy!! But, so glad to see it. I included those shots in the photo book, as they might not be the best photo as far as quality, but it captures the moment so well! So glad she enjoy BOG! I just love 1900 Park Fare breakfast as the character interactions are such a joy! And, I enjoy the Lobster benedict.

Can't wait for more... sneaking this in before the midnight hour :flower3:

Karen

Oh, a trip in the Spring. May perhaps? I'm going to be there then for my honeymoon. I'm already looking for obnoxious matching things for us to wear so we can get free things. Too bad I'm not little like Princess Maddie or else I'd be wearing a princess dress the whole time.

We are planning for May! LOL I love that you're looking for obnoxious things!

You know you have a great kid when they want to be a (original) Star Wars character. And when she can tell you the story of Walt Disney without having to do a report on him. :thumbsup2

Aww, thanks! It's her dad's fault with the Star Wars stuff...

ETWB looks so cute. I'm glad Maddie got a role to play! I can't however, get past Belle's new Gone With the Wind get-up :confused3 Maybe it looks better in person.

Now that you say that, it is a bit antebellum :rotfl: It really doesn't look that bad in person though.

I love that Maddie is such an Ariel lover. Ariel has been my best girl since I was a little girl (she hit the big screen when I was 2 so we've gone through life together). I couldn't handle how much I loved her new grotto and having her back in her fins that I may have cried a little when I met her there last December (and when I got on the ride for the fist time). Don't tell anyone :rolleyes1

Can't wait for more! I love your dining reviews. My fiance's brother is planning on going with his kids (6 and 10) next year and they would eat at all the same places as you guys so your reviews are going to be super helpful!

I won't tell anyone! I think everyone is excited to see Ariel back in her fin! So fun.

I hope that some of the dining reviews will be helpful! I'll get to some more eventually...

Congrats to Maddie on losing those teeth. :thumbsup2

I think taking Uncle Cory and going in the spring looks like a good choice and a lot of fun.

And she picked a cool princess for her costume! That is awesome!

I'm glad that it worked out well for you and you were able to get to Enchanted Tales with Belle before the line got ridiculous. Maybe you'll comment on this later, but has some of the newness of that attraction maybe died down, or was it usually an hour + most of the day?

I really love the theming of the New Fantasyland. They really went all out in making everything so immersive.

Thanks! We are really excited to take my little brother for his first trip.

I had a feeling you'd approve of the Halloween costume!

I'll intend to speak to the wait times, but since I may not remember... It was pretty bad in the late morning and afternoons. We had pretty good luck in the early mornings, and after dinner.

They really did an amazing job back there. I'm a little surprised there aren't more attractions, but the ones they did build are so well themed I'm okay with it.

Loving the TR so far!

Hooray for booking your next trip! I think it's so awesome you will be taking Uncle Cory, I am sure it will be a special trip for everyone!

Maddie looks so cute in her Halloween costume :cutie:

Thank you!

I am really excited to have another trip to plan!

Thanks!

Great pics! :)

Thanks so much!

OMG Shannon, that "real life" update was too much! So awesome that you're taking your brother to the World for his first time. I've always absolutely loved visiting with first timers and seeing things through their eyes.

"princess fashion designer", ok so adorable. "side bangs", even MORE adorable. And then that video. Stop, just stop. Tears in my eyes I swear. And pretty darn accurate too.

Haha, if nothing else, Maddie sure knows what she wants.

I've not yet seen Enchanted Tales, but I just may have to. Unfortunately, I expect I would end up a suit of armour.

Ha, too funny that me and a 6 year old both shared the same goal to meet Ariel in her fin. But I guess that just proves that Disney is for kids of all ages. :goodvibes

You are too sweet! Thank you so much! Maddie is a pretty funny kid, and yes she definitely knows what she wants! :lmao:

I swear we've told her the real story about Walt and Roy, she just added her own details!

It's a really cute attraction! I think it's worth 30 minutes. The suits of armor have the best parts-you may end up loving it!

Love all of the costumes, especially Princess Leia. You really are talented and Maddie looks adorable. Her toothless smile is too cute (she looks even more adorable than usual). Xander lost his first tooth on his second day of first grade recently. The only problem was he held it all day and ended up actually losing it before he got home. His teacher called me, because she said it was the first time in her 22 years as a teacher a student lost the same tooth twice, lol. She felt badly for him as he was frantically trying to find it.

How sweet that you are taking Uncle Cory with you to DisneyWorld. I know he had declined in the past (once for a tv), but I am glad he took you up on it this time. Knowing how much Maddie adores him, I am betting they will have a great time together. Yay to another trip for all of you!

I tried to watch the video but do not get sound from you tube videos linked to Facebook or the DIS for some reason. It is probably a setting that I cannot figure out. I subscribed to your channel, but You Tube is claiming you have no videos to share. Hopefully, there is just a delay, and I can watch it with sound from You Tube soon. The video seemed cute even without sound.

Reading about your morning actually inspired me to change a fastpass plus selection. Belle is my favorite princess, so I wanted to do the Enchanted Story Time with Belle experience. Knowing how Crap feels about taking time out for girly things, I decided to fastpass it, so the time would move faster. A compromise of sorts. Now, I want to go through the regular queue. You made it sound fun. If Xander is in a good mood, he may even get selected to participate. That would be neat. Thanks for the tip.

I was assuming the Little Mermaid ride would be the same as the one at DCA. You mentioned it was a classic boat ride. Is it buggies like Haunted Mansion or boats like IASW? The answer may have me add that attraction as well. The buggies at DCA are clam shells. Been there, done that.

Thanks Kimberly!

Poor Xander! Did he get double money too? :lmao:

Hmm, I'll check the youtube links again.

EtWB is lots of fun-even for boys I think. You should definitely try it!

Maybe they are clam shells? Honestly we only rode that one time and I don't remember. I guess it just seems like boats would make sense? I'm pretty sure that it is the clam shells though. Sorry for the confusion!

What great updates! Thanks for sharing the "real life" updates as well.

Enjoyed Maddie's take on the history of Walt Disney especially the line "he got really, really, really, really sick ..... then he died"

And what is it with kids these days and wanting to have compounded careers. Maddie now wants to be a “princess fashion designer”, and my DD (age 4) can't just be a ballerina, she wants to be a "Ballerina Mom" - you know, since the best way to achieve the goal of being a professional dancer is to throw in a pregnancy :lmao:

Thanks so much! That's the part that cracked me up too. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: You make a good point with the Ballerina Mom situation. That's hilarious!

What a great update! Maddie is too cute. I love the princess fashion designer. That sounds like a great career path!

Thanks so much! Very practical career choice I think. ;)

LOVE the video of Maddie! Too cute, she's a great storyteller.

The Princess Leia costume is fabulous, great job! :thumbsup2

I also love the pictures of Maddie running to the castle! Those would look snazzy in black and white.

Enchanted Tales with Belle is my favorite. I played Maurice the past two times I've done it! So glad Maddie was excited, and I hope she got to play the Beast at some point.

Lumiere is just too cool.

Yeah, between Ariel's Grotto and Be Our Guest, New Fantasyland has a lot of people thinking they're lining up for rides when really they're just waiting for Ariel/a restaurant.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!

Good idea! I have photoshop, but don't actually know how to use it well yet so I'm get frustrated editing pics. The ones I share her are usually straight off the camera. :rotfl:

We loved EtWB!

Haha! it really is!

Great pictures of Fantasyland.
Maddie is adorable!

Thanks so much!

Oh man!! The pure joy on Maddie's face when she was chosen to be Maurice is priceless!! I just love how into all of it she is! I'm surprising my middle daughter Meghan with a trip in November. She is 6 just like Maddie so I can't wait!!

Oh and she needs to go back to regular bangs...she looks too grown up...she needs to stay a cute little munchkin. If she grows up that means my 6 year old has too also :sad2:

You are going to have SO MUCH FUN! That's awesome! Are you staying on property?

I wish they'd stay little forever. I've asked, but Maddie won't.

LOVED the updates!!! As you know, Willow is very keen on the "new Maddie" with no front teeth. ;) And I still hope to get Willow's version of the WDW story on camera for Maddie. We are having a busy weekend, so it may take us a bit.

ETwB looks amazing - I love that Maddie enjoyed it so much. And feel a little sad about the FAIL you will soon here about this from us. *sigh* ;)

I think you made as fast work of NFL as we did! :rotfl2:

Haha! Maddie will be pleased when Willow's fall out too I'm sure.

I can't wait to see that video!

Did you not get there at all???????

I'm Right! I'm RIGHT! SHE SAID I'M RIGHT!

oh

:rotfl2:

Slow moving.

Uh, huh.

Then she posts three.... three chapters at once.

You make me feel better! Thanks Ponz! I knew we kept you around for a reason!

Boy, that brings back memories! I remember when Elle was about that age, doing ballet.

I assume this means you haven't found a way to keep them little either?

[QUTOE]OMG. Maddie looks like such a hard core fan there!
Oh yeah, she even knows the name of the team! What sport they play is another story though.

Where's our little Maddie? Who is this grown up young lady?

It's terrible isn't it? She's quite pleased with herself.

Love it!

Great job on the costuming, too.

Thanks! I thought it turned out pretty cute!

gotta wait 'til I get home to see it.

What did you think?

What's the general idea? What's it do?

From the cottage they lead you into Maurice's invention room which features a mirror that the Beast gave to Maurice. It's a magic mirror and allows Maurice to look in on Belle at the castle when ever he's missing her. The CM has everyone say "take be back to the day that Belle and Beast fell in love" and then the mirror transforms into a porthole to the castle itself! You meet the Mdme. Wardrobe first, and then everyone is let into the library. The mirror is very, very cool. It looks like an ordinary mirror and becomes a full doorway through which everyone walks.

hmmm.... well, it's quite blurry....

And a fantastic pic! You can really see the excitement... no that's not the right word... the absolutely overjoyed excitement in her expression.

She must've been talking a mile a minute afterwards!

Thanks Ponz! I had to share it even though it's such poor quality. I wish that I'd gotten a better one, but the emotion comes through.

Even more than usual!

Good for her! I hope she gets the part!

I'm building the intrigue..

How did she get in her tail? Was this planned? Did you have to pull her out by yourselves? Or did they call in extra CMs to extricate her?

Apparently it was a freak accident. The did manage to keep her alive and she's able to meet the public. Sadly, she is no longer able to walk. Terrible, terrible thing.

cute... but I thought they tasted horrible.

It's not Willy Wonka's factory Ponz! You don't lick the furnishings! This explains so many things, have you ever felt a sharp pain and a buzzing course through your body when you're snacking on light fixtures?

According to Wiki: "Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content, typically formed by the hydration of obsidian. It occurs naturally and has the unusual property of greatly expanding when heated sufficiently. It is an industrial mineral and a commercial product useful for its light weight after processing."

Is that it? Or is it a trade name for something else?

Yup! That's the stuff! I even learned some more about it! Bry's company mines and extracts the stuff and then uses it for various purposes. The little white balls in potting soil? Bry's company! It's used for construction (like in the concrete board being used on the coaster), filtration, and gardening. In certain forms it can hold water and self-time release.

[QUOTES]Thanks for the chapters, Shanarienie! :goodvibes
Thanks for the comments!

Oh Maddie, you look like such a big kid with your hair pulled to the side and 2 baby teeth gone!

Adison has lost 2 teeth (bottom middles) and adult teeth have taken their place. She has me check them almost daily to see "how tall" they have become (this has been going on for months). When she lost her first tooth, the tooth fairy was unsure of the going rate. She figured $5 was a nice generous gift for a first tooth, and so she left a fiver neatly tucked under Adison's pillow. We also gave her Tangled on dvd to commemorate the occasion of becoming a big kid (this was from us, not the TF).

Imagine the Tooth Fairy's surprise when Adison lost a second tooth shortly after the first, and proclaimed that the second tooth was deserving of $6...and that each tooth's price tag will be a dollar more than the last. That TF is going to be broke by the time Adison's mouth is empty!

:lmao: Good for Adison! She's a smart cookie! We also did $5 for the first tooth, and quickly found that Maddie expected it every time! We're gonna be in the poor house too!

What a great time you are all having! Maddie is beyond cute...as usual:cutie: I love her excitement when she was choosen to play Maurice....:goodvibes

We were having a great morning. Thanks Queen :goodvibes

Love both updates!

Maddie is so cute with her new side bangs hairdo! And I LOVE the video of the history of WDW. That's great!

Looks like y'all were taking MK by storm that morning! Glad Maddie got a part at ETwB.

Thanks Amanda! I'm so glad I got that on video!

I was amazed that we got so much done that morning! I wish every day had been like that...

Thanks Kathy! The tooth fairy is very generous with her...

I'm so excited for the spring trip, it should be great.

We'll make a point to try the stand by line.

You get in line for Ariel just to the right of the ride. There's a separate entrance right by the ride entrance-I think that's why so many got confused.

LOVE the Princess Leia costume!:thumbsup2

Thanks!!

I'm guessing the magic door is the coolest part of this.

Pretty much. It's a mirror that transforms into a porthole to the castle and then a doorway. It's pretty awesome technology.

Glad she enjoyed it! I can imagine I'd be up for it only if the wait wasn't too long.

It's definitely for the princess fan. We had a great time though!

Can't wait to see what that ride is like. :hyper:

Me neither! I hope it's running by the time our spring trip rolls around.

Back from vacation and now all caught up on your TR! Maddie makes an adorable Alice and princess as usual! Can't wait to read more!

We took a first-timer with us to WDW on our trip last week and it is awesome to see it new and fresh through their eyes!

Thanks for coming back over! Glad to have you back!

Will you be doing a TR? I love first timer TRs!

Thanks so much! She'd be in heaven to hear herself described as sophisticated!

NFLand is pretty amazing. It's really detailed.ETwB is lots of fun, so cute. You'll love it!

More coming right up!

Oh my gosh yay for a new vacation being planned!!! And yay for Uncle Cory coming too!! I’m pretty sure I’ll be down again in May, maybe we’ll meet up!!

Super excited to read more!! Yours is the only TR I’ve stopped to read during the trip! Bahha!

You are too sweet for checking in while you're on vacation!

I can't wait to hear about your MNSSHP adventures!

I knew you'd love the video. She's so funny.

New Fantasy land is incredible. So much detail!

More coming up!

Maddie is absolutely adorable in all her pictures. I love her pictures with Belle and Ariel. And that picture of her looking at the castle (even though you can't tell its her) is precious.

I was surprised that she was brave enough to pull that second one out.

I can't wait to take my little brother! I'm going to go crazy planning this trip!

Out of the mouths of babes right?

I love that! The whole family took over the show! I wish Joaquin had been the Beast... or your dad :rotfl:

July was definitely not our favorite time to visit! I LOVE spring!! But I believe you already know these things!!! ;) How awesome to book a new trip and to take along your brother is great!! The New Fantasyland updates were super!! :goodvibes

It was't our favorite either. So many un-magical guests and even CMs! It was really that more than the heat. We're very excited to go back during the spring.
Thanks!

Thanks! Summer was ok, it was honestly more about the attitudes of the other guests and even some of the CMs that turned us off. That and the rains-you'd think it would be the heat! LOL

Just love the prima donna! She is beautiful! And, have to love those toothless smiles, it's good she doesn't seem to mind. Looks like she is growing up... I'll miss the bangs! Karen

Thanks Karen! You're so sweet to us!

I kind of miss the bangs too. She looks so different!

We'll be back at 1900 next trip, we always have so much fun there!

He kind of did get double the tooth money. I had no cash on me at all, and Crap only had a $10 bill. We had to give him that. I only got $1 as a kid, so he made out like a bandit. If I had more cash on me, we probably would have given him $5. Then again, my sister gives her kids $20 for each tooth. Seeing as he had no tooth and only left a note, he is lucky the tooth fairy did not skip him, lol.

The One Where Goofy Makes a Call

Having made quick work of New Fantasyland we moved on to Storybook Circus. On our last visit only the Barnstormer, one Dumbo, and the train station had been operational, so much of the area was new to us.

My notes say that we rode the Barnstormer with no wait, but I have no pictures to prove it.

I do know that after that we decided to check out Pete’s Silly Sideshow-the new Meet and Greet location for Daisy, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. The M&G is divided into 2 lines. You can either choose to visit Daisy/Minnie or Goofy/Donald. Since the wait to meet the boys was posted at 25 minutes, we opted to visit the girls first. The wait was advertised as 15 minutes, but we only waited 10.

While in line we noticed that even though the line for Goofy and Donald was supposed to be the longer one, there was not one single person in line to meet them. We had already made up our minds to head over there after we met the ladies when we heard a phone ring. It was a strange sound, the ring of an honest to goodness wall telephone, and even the CMs seemed a little nervous when they realized it was their wall phone that was ringing.

The CM answered the phone and immediately started laughing. She pointed at Goofy across the way, so we of course turned to look. Goofy had gotten bored waiting for people to come visit him, so he called the CMs on the other side asking them to send some of us over.

Very soon we were meeting the lovely Daisy

Followed by Minnie Magnifique

After we finished up with them, the CMs encouraged us to duck under the ropes and make our way over to Goofy and Donald rather than go out through the dump shop and back around.

Goofy was very pleased that Maddie had come to see him, and immediately professed his love to her. He was having so much fun with Maddie that we visited with him for almost 10 minutes!

We couldn’t skip Donald of course. He gave lots of hugs and was suitably impressed that a princess was paying him a visit.

Finally we left the M&G area and found ourselves in one of the cutest dump shops ever. Like everything else in the area it’s a circus theme, and this is the main circus tent. In the center there is a great candy counter, and around the perimeter is the usual shop stock. It’s a really fun place to look around in!

Up Next: A New Adventure!

The One Where We Are Strongly Influenced by Stacey

By this time it was 10:15 (We’d done a TON in just an hour!) and true to form Maddie was in need of a snack.

At home, Maddie’s appetite is very hit or miss. Some days she’ll finish most of her meals, other days she really just picks at all of them. At Disney World however, she eats like a 16 year old boy. From past experience we know that when Maddie needs a snack you get her one or suffer the consequences (the consequences being a very crabby Maddie which in turn results in a cranky Mommy. Bryan is the most invested in the Get-Maddie-A-Snack-Immediately plan.)

The kid does her research, and knew that on this trip she was interested in trying her very first Mickey ice cream bar. (She’s usually a soft pretzel girl-specifically Mickey shaped ones). With that in mind we set off for Tomorrowland.

Luck was on our side and we were able to find an ice cream cart open at such an early hour. Unfortunately, the CM who checked us out said that our KTTW cards were not showing any snack credits available. We charged the ice cream bar to the room, but knowing that we actually had 42 of them available with our DxDP, I knew we’d have a visit to guest services in our future.

We settled on some benches near Space Mountain while Maddie had her snack. The pictures make it appear that she enjoyed it more than she really did. This was the last Mickey bar she requested. My theory is that she didn’t care for the messy nature of the snack.

While Maddie was eating we noted that the wait time for Space Mountain was only 20 minutes, so after cleaning the princess’s face and hands we got in line for Maddie’s first spin through space.

Some of you may be wondering how on Earth we had convinced Miss Scared of all Dark Rides to queue up for Space Mountain in the first place. While I’d love to take credit for this, it was all Stacey. Maddie adores her, and immediately following our last trip announced that she’d be riding. Concerned, I showed her youtube videos and told her how dark it really is, but her mind was made up. She was riding.

Super excited for her first ride!

And what was the verdict???

She loved it!! (This was not the last we’d see of Space Mountain on this trip.)

If you’re wondering how PP+ works for ride photos, it couldn’t be easier. Just take note of the number on the screen of your photo (some rides had CMs stationed there with pencils and paper, but most didn’t most often I just took a photo of the number), go to the counter where you can buy the photo, and give them the number and your PP+ card. They’ll download the pic for you quickly!

We got off of Space at about 11:00 am and headed out of Tomorrowland. We noticed that the wait time for the Speedway was only about 5 minutes so Bryan and Maddie decided to take a ride.

While they’d been waiting I’d availed myself of the facilities near Merida’s M&G and noted that the wait there wasn’t long either. Once Maddie and Bryan had finished racing we got in line to meet the newest Disney Princess.

I made a quick trip to First Aid for band-aids (princess shoes are not a practical WDW touring shoe, and while we had plenty in our hotel room we had none in the backpack with us) while Maddie and Bryan waited in line. I’ve read on other TRs that the kids are allowed to try their hand at the bow and arrow after meeting Merida, but Maddie popped in while we were waiting. She LOVED doing it, and the CM helping the kids was amazing. He was super patient and sweet with all of them.

Finally it was our turn! Maddie had made a special bracelet for each of the princesses, and Merida was to the first to receive hers.

I cannot say enough good things about Merida. She was so very sweet about the bracelet, and asked Maddie’s opinion of how it looked on her explaining that she’s not very good at ‘princess things’ like jewelry. She said her mom would be so happy that she was wearing some jewels, and that her brothers would probably do something naughty with it. Maddie was beyond pleased that Merida had enjoyed her special gift so much.

As we said goodbye Merida wished me a happy birthday and told me not to eat any birthday cake unless I knew who’d made it. A very practical tip.

Up Next: More gifts are bestowed

What a awesome morning! I about cried when I heard about her Goofy magic. He called her over. How many kids can say that? Then, onward to get so much done on such a short period of time. Her meet and greet with Merida seemed fantastic. I still say she has so many great interactions, because they know how amazing Maddie is.
