Hello, probably the only ones reading this will be fellow disboutiquers, so hi friends! After all the planning, sewing, bow and scrunchie making and panicking, we made it through our trip! Here are the players:

Tom: aka Dad, is a little, um, frugal, but loves Disney and wisely thought investing in the DVC would be a good idea;
Steph: me, Mom, the scaredy-cat of the family;
Jacob: the sweetest 8 year old boy you will even meet;
Megan: the one who inspired this tr title, a crazy lovable 5 year old

For your convenience, the chapters (I didn't think I would have this many!):

Chapter 1: Intro and First Day

Chapter 2: Epcot Day

Chapter 3: Fun at the World Showcase!

Chapter 4: Magic Kingdom!

Chapter 5: Animal Kingdom!

Chapter 6: Character Dinner and Roasting Marshmallows!

Chapter 7: Magic Kingdom Part Two

Chapter 7a: We Meet the Sisters!

Chapter 7b: The Day After the Sisters

Chapter 7c: Megan's Birthday!

Chapter 7d: Pictures of Strangers at the Magic Kingdom

Chapter 7e: Megan's Teaparty

Chapter 8: The End!

With no traffic, we live exactly one Finding Nemo movie away from Disney, so we packed up Sunday morning (March 30th) and headed off to our spring break annual trip.

I didn't know what we would be doing first, but I hastily finished a last minute big-faced Belle jumper for Megan and thought that would work wherever we went. We got to the Beach Club Villas and our room was ready early! So we unpacked and left for Hollywood Studios. Dad likes it the least so he wanted to get it out of the way early. I think I forgot to tell him we were going to Fantasmic later in the week so we would be returning. It turned out to be a good thing.

We ate lunch and then Megan and I went to see the Beauty and the Beast show while the boys rode Tower of Terror. I love that show and remember when Megan was little and was so afraid of the Beast. Hurry up and make friends with Belle, she would tell him through clenched teeth. Now she loves the whole show!

Oh, at lunch we ran into a lady I sew for! She had her daughter in the minnie dot peasant top I made for her. She loved Megan's jumper and it was so cool to run into her!

After that we poked around and went on a few rides. Jacob wanted to go on a ride where he wasn't faced with death (he so did not appreciate Tower of Terror), so we went on the movie ride. I wanted to watch the block party but Tom hates parades of any kind. To be honest, I am not a big parade person either, but we were right there and it was right there. It's not like we could just ram through people to leave anyway. The kids were getting fussy and hot which he used to prove his point about leaving. Ha! I bought them ice cream and they were perfectly fine. Of course, people were ramming into us the whole time, so maybe Tom had a point. Why would people barge right into a five year old watching a parade? Fortunately, the ice cream and entertainment kept her happy.

Look at those bows! Those are the best bows I have ever made!

After that, we did leave. On the boat ride back, the driver asked if anyone knew how many Friendship boats Disney had. Megan yelled out eight (at Dad's prompting). She got a cool pin (one to keep and one to share) and a card that said she was a co-captain. She held it in Jacob's face and said, now I can drive the boat whenever I want!

We got back to the Beach Club and got ready for the pool. Now, before reading CampbellScott's trip report, I didn't know I had an option regarding the pool. The kids love the pool so we go down and they play while I try not to have a heart attack making sure they are not drowning. I hate the pool. Not a little, a lot. I am sure the minute I lose sight of one of them bad things will happen.

So, I say, I am not swimming. I will go down and watch for a little while and that's it. See, on a chair I will have a better view of both kids. So we head down. Tom laughs at me, ha ha I am so silly. He goes to the bar to get me a drink because I am such a hysterical mother. Meanwhile, the kids are happily playing in the pool not ten feet away from me. Then they decide to play in the whirlpool.

I hate the whirlpool more than anything. If you haven't been to StormalongBay I will try to describe. It is a deep (too-deep for a five year old) fast moving whirlpool surrounded by rocks on one side so that the lifeguard does not have a clear view into it. Sure enough, they are swimming around and I hear, Mommy help!

There is Megan stuck, swirling around, unable to reach the side. I jump in and a very nice boy pushes her toward me and I snatch her out. She sits on my lap and sniffles while I wrap her in a towel and curse my husband (silently of course). Of course this is his fault. Megan is ready to get up almost instantly and tells me, next time I will try to stay closer to the side. Like I am going to let her back into the vortex of death! I make her sit on my lap so we can properly guilt Daddy when he gets back. What is taking him so long anyway?

Finally he comes back with a drink (I need a double at this point) with information that an Outback Steakhouse convention is here this week and that the bar was packed. I tell him about the trauma and how I had to jump in the pool to save her daughter (I think I am allowed to embellish, I did get my sneakers wet). I think I have found my excuse out of any further pool excursions (although I will do much worrying up in the room, don't worry).

After that fun (ha!) we got dressed and headed for Epcot for dinner. I was craving shish kabobs so we went to Restaurant Marrakesh. Unfortunately, the menu has changed since the last time we were there and we didn't like it much. Megan liked the bread!

After that, we headed to England to watch British Invasion. We love British Invasion and the kids love to run around in the maze. I wish they played longer than 20 minutes at a time (British Invasion, not the kids. They will play in that hedge maze all day if we let them). We stopped in the toy store to see if anyone was home and we ran smack into Alice!

Megan asked later, how old is she? I don't know, why? Because she is very small, so she must be young like me! Alice liked her Bambi outfit and was very sweet about it.

IMG_0209.jpg

Of course you can't go to England without seeing Pooh and friends.

Help! A donkey is eating my daughter!

After British Invasion was done playing we headed back to our room, where we watched Illuminations from our balcony. It was a great end to our first day!

Next: Epcot!

Great start. Me and my dh love British Invasion too. One afternoon, we went back and forth from British Invasion to Off Kilter. It was always perfect timing.
I'm staying at the BC next November, I don't have to worry about small children. Mine are all grown.

Yay Steph! Love the photos and Megan's bambi outfit!

We love them both too! Off Kilter was not playing that first night, but we have been known to jaunt back and forth too.

You will love the Beach Club, just stay away from the Vortex of Death!

Yay Steph! Love the photos and Megan's bambi outfit!

Thanks! She got a lot of compliments on it and it turned out to be one of my favorites. Usually we see a topiary of Bambi in Epcot during the Garden Festival but they didn't have one this time. :sad2: I really wanted a picture of Megan standing next to it. Maybe next time!

Yeah you got started! We went to Disney for a Weekend in March and I have been planning on writing but haven't had time. Maybe this week while we are on Spring Break I can find time to write.

Hey Steph...love all the pictures and your TR so far!!! Vortex of death, eh? That sounds awful...so glad you were there to save her!!! I am the worrying type too .... can't help it now that I am a Mommy.

Can't wait for more....so hurry up, stop all that sewing and get typing instead. Hahahahaha!!! :rotfl2:

I absolutely LOVE that I have influenced your Disney swimming habits!!!
:lmao: :rotfl2: It is my goal to stay at Yacht/beach club so that I might experience Stormalong Bay!

My hubby still mocks me openly when I speak of DVC. Silly husband, he doesn't even know that DVC will be my Christmas present this year!!!:cool1: I've already spoken to Santa. He's on board!:thumbsup2

I must say your "guilting of the father" was done with SUCH finesse! BRAVO!!!

Teddy is such a daredevil he'll jump into anything that looks dangerous! I think you are right...he and Megan would make a great POWER couple!!

SO FUN!!! I LOVE Megan's outfits! The pictures of her hugging characters made me get all sniffly! That KILLS me every time!!!

Can't wait for more!!!:goodvibes

Great start!! Can't wait to read more!

I am neurotic about the pool too. Dh usually takes one kid and I stickw ith the other. It's tiring.

Great Bambi outfit!! I'm mean. My kids haven't seen Bambi yet, because I'm worried my very sensitive son will be traumatized when Bambi's mother dies. EVERY TIME we watch Nemo, I have to hold him and remind him that it is JUST a movie when Pearl gets eaten by that fish. :sad2:

First of all, I love the title of your TR!

The Beauty and the Beast show really upset Tessa when she was younger, but she loved it. She kept screaming "No, don't kill the Beast!!"

How cool that you ran into a lady you sew for!

I am still giggling over the "vortex of death". Seriously, I wish more parents were as vigilant as you around pools!!

I love the picture of Megan on the boat and with the characters!

You are a terrific writer! I love TRs that make me laugh and yours has me giggling!!

Yes, please do get writing!

Ha ha! I really haven't been doing anything since we got back. It's almost noon and I'm still in my pjs!

We love the Beach Club and rarely stay anywhere else. You can't beat the proximity to Epcot: we are lazy! Hope you can talk DH into the DVC: we have been nothing but pleased with it.

It is so cute how alike Megan and Teddy (and for that matter Jacob and Sally) are. Spooky!

Yay!!! That is a great start. I love the pictures.

Thanks!

Both kids are very nonchalent about death, it kind of weirds me out. When we saw a bunny hopping around England Megan said, remember when Scrappy killed that bunny? He was so mad at it! If Scrappy was here, that bunny would have to watch out! Weirdo!

If they freaked out about Nemo, I would hold off on Bambi too. It's my all time favorite Disney movie ever since I was a kid, but I like being sad, if you know what I mean. The kids, who are not weird like their mother, don't watch it much at all.

Aww, Tessa didn't want the Beast to get hurt. Megan didn't care a whit about that, she just didn't want him yelling at Belle!

Thanks for the compliments!

Great start to your TR -- can't wait to read more!

Thank you! :)

Ok, so I'm a smidge late! Be sure and do shameless plugs whenever you update!!!

I've never been to the Beach Club. Nor have I seen the pool next to which a vortex of doom kid swallower whirlpool. Where have I been? Oh ya, slumming with the other value seeking non-DVC members ;)

Megan is so cute! I just got Norah's hair cut the same way..which is really cute!

I've never been to Restaurant Marrakesh either. Maybe I'll pass that up and still do Tangerine Cafe (yummy food there).

LOVE all the customs and bows!

Good Job Funny Lady!

GREAT GREAT GREAT Trip Report Stephanie!! Yeah for Megan getting a pin!

Good for you watching the kids so closely in the pool! Things happen so fast, especially whilst swimming in a vortex of death! And, I like the way you guilted your hubby, that sounds exactly like something I would have done! When we go swimming, he lays down and takes a nap, while I watch the kids. He wonders why I HATE going to the beach now!

All the outfits are looking great! :thumbsup2 I can't wait for your next update, please let us know when you do!

Remember, don't bring nature into the house. Especially DEAD nature!!! Oh, that still crackys me up!!!!! :rotfl: (Sorry Steph!)

Thanks! Megan loves her shorter haircut, of course I think it's cute too! Norah could wear her hair any old way and still be a doll.

Yes, that's what I thought of too when I saw the rabbit. Poor little dead bunny in our kitchen. :sad2:

It always takes me a while to catch up on things, but I made it over...great TR! I am the same way about pools...my problem...I can't swim, so I am terrified something will happen to the babies! My DH does not get it!

Can't wait for more!

Sorry so late Steph! I am so busy during the week that I can barely keep up with my Dising habit:rolleyes: . What a great trippie! I haven't been around the World at Epcot since I was in college and I barely remember it. Shocking I know. So I am really enjoying learning what to do there from you. I love the Belle and Bambi outfits too! Really cute! Meg is such a cutie pie! Everytime we see a pool, my kids and I talk about how "Megan in Florida" is probably swimming right now! :rotfl: Looking forward to more!!!!! Great start!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Hi! :flower3: I finally noticed the very large, very red link in your signiture. :sad2: Can't wait to read more and I just love that bambi outfit.

bYes, that's what I thought of too when I saw the rabbit. Poor little dead bunny in our kitchen. :sad2:

Oh sad story. We had an adventure this week when one of my dogs got a bunny one morning. Poor bunny ran into the fence 4 times b/c he couldn't find his way out. And my husband did nothing as it's the "natural way of things" :guilty: At least one hasn't made it into the house yet... not for lack of trying on Jasmine's part though. :scared:
