Hope you are all having a great Sunday. My weekend is coming along nicely.

It looks like I get to choose the next challenge

I decided on something I have been meaning to do for awhile now.
I want you to find a layout that you don't like and REDO it. :wizard:

1: Your layout may be of anything you like.
2: Your layout must have something "old".
3: You must upload both the "old" layout & "new" layout.
(Since, I'm nosey; I want to see why you wanted to redo it :rolleyes1 )

What do you think? Easy enough, Right?

Well, I was thinking about the challenge and what Reddy said about not redoing pages. I decided to add a sketch to the challenge. You can do the "Redo" challenge, the sketch challenge or both.

Should I extend the due date to the 3rd?
Sketch number #9 (I'll try to get it done today.)

I will have my 11 year old pick a winner..

Back when I started scrapping in 2002 I didn't do many layouts for Zach's (my 11yo) baby or holiday books. I was more focused on Disney trips then I got into swaps and scrapping went out the door completely. In 2010, I decided to take a break from swaps and scrap ALL Zach's (my 11yo) holiday layouts. The other day I was making a list and looking at all the holidays layouts that I had and this layout caught my eye. All of them look alot better than this one so that is way I wanted to redo it.

Just so you know I am now officially caught up on every single holiday for Zach's (11yo) book and for Caleb's (6mo) book. Now I'm working on their baby books.

Here's mine

NEW---I scanned the photo (before digital photos) and cropped us closer. I had that Together Forver Tag and Love banner for about 4 years.

SKetch #9 I turned the sketch photos upside down and tweeked the sketch a bit.

oohhh July 2 is my B-day ;)

I was told to not redo old LOs since it shows how much you improve as you keep doing it (or as things change or styles change)

But I just may do this anyways - have to think what to do

You know my hubby always tell me I never listen ;)

When I started scrapping back in 2002 I didn't do many pages for Zach's book before I took Zach on his 1st Disney trip in Sept 2002 (18months old). I was more focused on scrapping that Disney trip when we got back. By the time I finished scrapping 1 trip we went on our next etc etc LOL
On top of the Disney scrapping I got into Disney swapping and scrapping Zach's pages went straight to the back on the line. I'm glad I kept a baby diary because it comes in handy when scrapping his baby pages now.

I think I have or had maybe 25 pages total from back then. I already redid 19 for his monthly/weekly baby album.

Shoot, I've even redid a page I did a few weeks ago because something on the layout was just not right LOL I keep doing this I'm never going to get these books done :rotfl:

I love the new picture - it alot better close up like that

I think I would keep redoing too if I got started but right now it is scrapping for the next Disney trip (keeps me happy)
but I should get caught back up on the family album (I wonder where I am on that now)

I am going to try to get off the computer, do a little housework, and then work on the sketch. I have a strict rule about not redoing layouts because otherwise I would spend all my time going backwards instead of moving forwards:lmao:

I had too many photos!! I tried my best to follow the sketch :goodvibes The hat was made by Lisa, the circle shapes by Erin, and the squares on the right by Sheila

cute pages Tracy and Michelle..thanks for using my safari title!

I will give the sketch a try in the next day or two....I don't re-do my pages either, they are what they are!

Thank you. I so wish we were digital back in 2001. I feel like I'm cheating Zach because Caleb has such clear photos LOL

I use to have a no redo rule too. After I had Caleb and looked through Zach's tenny tiny scrapbook; I decided I can do both boys' books at the same time, and they both will have quality work. Since I didn't do many book pages for Zach it's easy for me to "redo" what I did without a hassle. Now asking me to redo a DIsney scrapbook well that is taking it too far. Zach will be going on his 10th trip in Sept. My scrapbooks for the trips average 150 pages each except for my 2009 Disney Trip it is at 297 pages.

The layout turned out wonderful.
I LOVE how you got many photos on the layout. I always use a sketch as a stepping stone, it doesn't have to be exact for me. Great footprints and title too

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for adding the sketch idea. I wanted to participate, but was feeling badly about re-doing a page from scratch.

I DO have a page that I "sort of " redid, but I never took a photo of the original. But I can show the re-do and describe what changes I made.

And hopefully also find time to make a page with the new sketch! BBL to post. Thanks.....P

okay..... here is my "re-do" page. It is something that I originally made as a 12 x 12 1 page layout as a framed gift for my DMIL. But I ended up not liking the black background and remade the page with much different colors (more purple prints) on a white background. I stashed this one away because I didn't want to trash it. Well... I found it recently and decided I could use a bit of "Undu" and magic and another piece of black and transform it into something useable for the "100 reasons we love you" book I'm currently working on. I am SO pleased with the way it turned out! Sorry, but I don't have a photo of the original (although it was done from a sketch I found online that I could probably look up).

this is on my blog where you can see the picture now if you want

Great job on the challenge everyone.

Reason #22: Great gift idea and I love the black background it lets the photos pop.

ToT: Love that you used a 5x7 instead of smaller photos.

Orioles: Love the colors on this layout.

And the winner is..................disney-akj (Michelle) with her Safari layout. My son REALLY loves that hat title & I really love the pattern paper. Wonderful job using all those photos too.

Michelle, you get to pick the next challenge. Have fun....
