Has anyone done this? I would like to do this on one of my walls.

I know there are a couple of books out there, but I haven't seen them anywhere locally and really don't want to spend the money!

What is the basic concept of this? I have seen the scrapbook page frames that are now available. But there must be more to it than that :confused3

Any help, guidance, direction would be greatly appreciated!!!

well....its many different things, and as far as im concerned, there arent any rules....i would put more stuff up on our walls, but we rent currently, and i dont like making holes, but im also very creatively inclined, so if i hear something i run off with it and dont look back...

if you really want some steadfast guidelines, go look at a book in a store and see if its for you, or do what i do.....dive in...lol

the basic concept is this: take your photos, supplies, and creativity and make something to hang on the wall....doesnt have to be in a special frame, of on a canvas, just has to be hangable, and expressive of you

I saw in a magazine once where people scrapped on canvas. I think it was a Creating Keepsakes magazine in an ad. I found these by googling scrapbook canvas. Hope this helps!

Thank you! This is just what I was looking for. I was concerned about having photos and paper sitting on the wall collecting dust with no real way to clean them. Using the canvas and Mod Podge are great ideas.

Now all I need is time ;)

Not sure if you've done this or not, but it is fun! Can work with chunkier items than you would in an album. I have removed the pics from this post, because they are so large. You'll have to link to photobucket to see them there, as I couldn't get it to let me resize them over there.

Here is one I did for fun with one of the favorite pics I've ever taken of my boys.

I did this exact same piece, which is two 12x12 canvases from Scrapbooking on the Wall, for all the grandparent sets for Christmas. Another set is hanging in DH's office at work and then I have this one at home.

Have fun! But go slow. I tried to work too fast, modge podging the pictures down and immediately modge podging over them also. More difficult to keep the picture flat while the glue dries if you already have modge podge over the top. I began working in stages, modge podging a little bit and then just making sure I worked out the bubbles and kept it flat until it was dry. I had much better results when it took a couple of days, than trying to do it all in one.

Oh great thread....you know it is very scary but I was seriously thinking about this yesterday...once my fiance and I get a new house I will have a scrapbook room and wanted to do that. I bought a 12x12 frame once and did a scrapbook page for my mother. That particular frame I just made the page and put it in the frame.

While I havent tired this yet, I was thinking about using shadow boxes. Sounds like fun, good luck!

This is off topic, but when we rented I couldn't stand the bare white walls and sort of wall papered them. You get material that you like, just cotton or whatever, cut it into strips like a wallpaper border, iron them flat, then spray the back of them like crazy with spray starch (for clothes) and hang it like a wall paper border. It pulls right off and the wall washes clean with water.
