scrapbookers???/penny press

My family is cruising in March and I have 2 questions...
1. are there penny presses on board Magic (my 8yr girls want to know)
2. scrapbook opinion...Instead of bringing an autograph book, I thought about
bringing a bunch of different colored 4x6 cardstock and having each character sign one, so when I get home I can add a picture of girls with autograph...What do you think??? Too much of a pain???
3. any better suggestions for autographs???

Sorry to say they took the penny press machines off the Magic years ago and I don't think the Wonder ever did have them.

The cardstock sounds like a great idea! One thing I saw someone do on one of our cruises was to bring a white 8 1/2 x 11 picture mat and had the characters sign that. I think I like your idea better because you can use them of different pages.

Dd brought her Disney autograph book and I am working on scanning/copying the autograph pages. That way she has them in her book. I thought about individual pages, but I was afraid that I would lose them or bend them. I've heard that some people have used the smaller 6 x 6, 5 x 7 or 8 x 8 album pages.

I'm using a Creative Memories 7X7 Disney themed album for each of my kids to use as autograph books. We'll predecorate the pages with disney themed stickers, etc. We'll have the characters sign on one side... and when we get home, we just have to add the pictures to the other side!

I'm making an autograph book out of cardstock because I want to use them in my scrapbook. I'm not going to bring a bunch of loose papers, though-- I'm going to cut them to a uniform size and bind them somehow. You could even use staples along one side-- just cut the paper longer than you need so you can cut off the rough side when you get home.

I like the picture mat idea too, but not instead of autographs for my scrapbook.

You can have cardstock cut and spiral bound at Kinko's or just buy a 6x6 spiral scrapbook from Michael's.

How much does Kinkos charge to spiral bind? It might not really be worth it since I intend to take it apart for individual layouts later.

Ditto the spiral bound scrapbook from M's-- plus, I just got one of those for anothe rproject and the paper was off-white.

I did the autograph album for my kids and they loved it! A word of advice... when the characters sign it, make sure there isn't a signature on the back. What I did was everynight I took out the autographs from the spiral notebook and put them in a plastic ziploc bag. That way they all stayed together and I didn't have autographs on both sides of the paper. then I put the pics on opposite page of the autograph.

My kids still look at the album today. Have fun!

Don't know how much it is to bind at Kinkos, but if you are interested, I have a comb binder and would bind your card stock if you wanted to send it to me.

On our first cruise I cut my own paper and used a small size clipboard to put it on for autographs. Each night I took the autographs out and put them in a folder that I brought for all my scrapbook goodies that I collected.

I brought the 4 x 6 cardstocks in different colors. I am working on my 12 x 12 now and it works really well!! Michaels sells the assorted color cardstocks in a package of 100 for $4.99.

What a sweet offer, ohiominnie! I really appreciate it, but I don't think I'm actually going to bind my cardstock. I kind of like the mini clipboard idea! It's a good point about making sure the characters don't sign both sides of the paper and the clipboard would eliminate that possibility. You could just move the signed paper to the bottom of the stack and still keep them all together.

On our last trip to WDW, we used the small spiral bound scrapbook from Michaels (I forget the brand). I put a large X on the back of each page so characters would not sign on the back. When I made my DD's autograph scrapbook I just cut the autographs to the size I wanted and matted them in coordinating paper. I love the way it came out!

You can always punch holes along the edge or up in a corner and then connect them with one of those opening rings (kind of like what you can use for keys).


Or do two holes and tie them with ribbon.

When I was at Walmart this weekend I checked out their scrapbooking section and I bought a small (4x6? 5x8?) spiral bound scrapbook with off white cardstock pages bound inside-- in other words, not page protecters. I plan to have the characters sign directly in this book and then transfer/mat them in my scrapbook. I liked this since it wasn't going to me loose paper for me to keep up with! The cost was reasonable... under $5.00 I believe.
