Scored big at BLT---Tink must have been hiding nearby

Checked into BLT this morning, our first time here. As usual I made only a reservation (lake view category), no added requests. Completely believe that no requests is the way to go as we always seem to get great room placement! Who knows...maybe they sigh with relief and reward it.

Anyway, checked in at 10:30 am, and as I exited out of the lobby my phone text came in with a room number. Off we go....into BLT, up the elevator to the 10th floor, around the corner, door to the left. AHA!! We are directly over the tennis courts, with an expansive bay view to the right and GORGEOUS views of MK to the left. I'm in heaven....

Love the room, love the resort, had a great time in the pool today. Watched the last two nights of Nightasmic Fri. and Sat. and am looking forward to Wishes tonight, possibly from the TOWL room. Great lunch at Contempo Cafe earlier, lots of nice CM's in the Community Hall when we stopped by for a bit. BLT definitely gets my 2 thumbs up.

That's awesome, congratulations! We were lucky too when we got a similar view (except on a lower floor) when we booked a standard view room in February.

Hi, We got just the Bay Lake View. (It was so peaceful out on the balcony in the morning) BUT I totally fell in LOVE with BLT when we stayed there last November. And this is from someone that NEVER liked the Contemporary! We have a reservation to return in February and it would be great to be able to see the MK but I went with the Bay Lake view category again! (we are staying on points) Joan

We checked out from BLT this past Friday. This was our first stay at BLT, and my first stay at the Contemporary since 1982. We had room 7937, which is a studio on the 9th floor, overlooking the pool. We're absolutely in love with this resort, now. I didn't think the location would make that big of a difference in convenience, but it really, REALLY did.

The sky bridge was closed for maintenance for most of our stay, so that detracted from the convenience a tiny bit, but walking to the MK was such a convenience.

Absolutely loved the Top of the World Lounge, too. We spent several nights up there, Pina Colava's in hand, watching the fireworks.

My one and only compaint, and it's a minor one in comparison, was the lack of a nice shower facility to change and get ready for your flight home on check-out day. We spent the morning at the pool, and had clothes in a carry-on to change into, since our DME bus wasn't until 2:55 PM. However, the BLT pool restrooms don't have showers in them. We asked the lifeguards, who sent us over to the Contemporary pool to use the restrooms near the Sand Bar. There was a single shower stall. It was filled with scores of bugs; there were no towels or soaps (which I seem to remember having at other DVC resorts where we've done this); the shower head was broken so you had to hold it in your hand; and there was no hot water. Showering and changing here left a sour taste in my mouth, and was far from what I'd expect at a deluxe resort.

Please, where are the showers in the DVC pool restrooms? I don't remember seeing one during my BWV, BCV or WLV stays????

We were always told to go to the health club and show our room card to use the facility there. Could you not use the health club at the CR?

I know Old Key West has a very nice shower facility in the pool rest room. Our first stay there we had a broken shower in our room that took two days to fix and we were walking to the pool to shower!

I am LOVING everything about this place, including the room (not just the view) and layout--we're in a 1 b/r.

TOWL last night was a blast, making plans to be there often this week.

Off to hit the monorail to Epcot now....

I'll be making my first trip to BLT next June so it's a ways off but I'm really looking forward to it especially after reading some of the great reviews.
