Scooter Trigger Question

I'm in the process of helping my mom pick out a scooter to rent for our next DW tip in January. One thing I just thought about is that she has a "weak" thumb due to breaking it in the past. She has trouble with grip, opening jars, etc. I think it was on her right hand. Any thoughts on if this would affect our choice? I found this rental from Scooter Vacations that uses a finger trigger instead of a thumb one. http://www.scootorlando.com/clip/distinction/action.html Is this the only one of this type available? Has anyone else rented one from this company, and do you have feedback to share? Thanks for your help.

I know that the ones that Apple Scooters rent can be controlled with either hand and it uses your fingers, not the thumb. I personally have the 3 wheeled scooter that they rent.

Almost all ECVs us a lever where either side can be pulled towards you or pushed away from you. You can use any finger to control the movement of the lever. Most people tend to use their thumb, but it is not necessary.

I think you are looking for a Delta tiller. This looks like an oval with a bar across the middle. The driver uses his/her hand to go forward and back, not the fingers. The wrists lean on the bottom of the oval. It's very comfortable.
