Scooter Sun Shades Removable?

Question about the sun shade on the scooters, are they removable?

We are taking my parents with us in June for the first time and I will be renting an ECV for my dad from Buena Vista. I opted for the sun shade since it will be the summer, but was wondering if it is removable.

I've seen the scooter's with the shades and they look pretty bulky so when it's night or when we are just spending time at the resort, we'd prefer not to have it on.

They cost about the same as the cost for renting a shade and you can adjust as the sun moves.

I'm concerning the shade you rent with the scooter will get in the way getting in and out or causing issues in wind.

Some are removable, however I wouldn't recommend it. Depending on the type of sun shade it is, it is difficult to remove and put back on. I rented one with a canvas like shade and the pieces fell (if I remember correctly it was five "bars".). Took time just to figure out proper placement. I have also had the hard sun shade which was screwed onto the back. We took it off once, but never got it screwed back exactly right and always had it leaning over and loose when travelling. The sunshade just travels with me now - even in the evenings, at restaurants, etc.
