Thank you!Only ScooterBug can utilize Bell Services at WDW-owned resorts. All other vendors will arrange to meet you in person.
@gottalovepluto my issue is on our departure day we need to leave for the airport by 730am. There is only one company that could possibly pick up at 7, but if something changed we would need to leave for the airport. I think the only other option we would have is turning it in the evening before we leave but that would leave several hours of that night that my mom wouldn't have a way around. She can walk some but not far.@tarheellovesdisney do consider taking a few minutes and reading reviews on scooterbug here so you know what you're potentially getting into. Some are fine with them, others not so much...
I just rented through Scooterbug two weeks ago for my 80 year old mother. It was wonderful - couldn't be happier with their service and products.@tarheellovesdisney do consider taking a few minutes and reading reviews on scooterbug here so you know what you're potentially getting into. Yes. There are many like you! I used to be like you. Alas there are many like me now who ended up with a user with a horrid experience that was entirely the company’s fault that left me facepalming wishing I headed the warnings from those who voiced them. OP already knows what they’re in for- a roll of the dice- and that’s what I wanted to make sure, alas they have other circumstances dictating this choice.I just rented through Scooterbug two weeks ago for my 80 year old mother. those that are experienced renters, is there another option for us?

No we're not. It would be nice to have a choice in vendors but I don't see that we do. We only need an ECV for 2 days, with an early departure so Scooterbug seems like the logical option. I did read reviews and hope we have a decent experience. I appreciate everyone's inputYou sound stuck with them.
You don’t happen to be staying Swolphin by any chance that last night? They allow various companies to drop/retrieve from bell services.

I did talk to Gold about the possibility of a 7am pickup. They said they could make a note on a reservation but we wouldn't know a time for sure until the day before when they texted. And then morning of, any number of issues could cause a delay in pick up. We have a 10:30 flight and would need to leave the resort by 7:30- that seems cutting it very close. (Traveling with an elderly person that needs plenty of time) It would be great if it worked but could be a huge problem if it doesn't. Not having rented an ECV before I don't know what the options would be if I had to leave and they hadn't picked upI understand why Scooterbug seems easier. And not knocking that. But I have had Gold Mobility drop off scooters between 7-7:30 AM for us. And I know at least once they were picking up from someone else at that time. So early is a possible option. But I also understand if the plans change and you need to leave at 6 AM that being able to leave it also makes sense. Just throwing out a possible option. For the record, we used Scooterbug at Disneyland and it was ok, but honestly not great. Gold is finally in CA so will start trying them for Disneyland in the future. Although we usually use the wheelchair at Disneyland.

Just letting the OP know there are others with positive experiences and outlooks! Always look on the bright side.
They aren't the only one with a negative experience. Many of us have had less than stellar experiences, and not just with Scooter Bug. I have also had issues with Walker Mobility and Scootaround as well. I will never use anyone but Gold Mobility again. I am not willing to risk getting stranded by subpar equipment.yes we know - you complain about them every time they are brought up

FWIW I have renter with Walker twice for cruises because I had no other option. Both times the equipment was in horrible shape. They both looked old ad battered. One didn't hold a charge and the other had wheel issues. The last time was about 3 years ago.As discussed above - the only vendor that delivers and picks up from WDW resorts is scooterbug. That is a super huge benefit for people who have time constraints or difficulty with meeting the vendor. Best way to describe their ECVs is "cookie cutter" basic models. They generally are slower than that of other vendors. They beep obnoxiously in reverse letting people know to look out for you. Some machines have bumps and bruises that are cosmetic. No fan. No cup holder. (usually) This is your standard gets you where you need to go basic model. I have rented from them many times over the years and my complaint was usually with the regard to the slow speed compared to my own personal ECV and others I've rented. Any issue I had was resolved with a phone call. (had a bad tire, had a machine that rolled even when not in neutral) Over the years I've rented from many other companies - lately GOLD mobility being my first go to choice. Have I had any issues with Gold? Yes. Yes I have. I had one machine that would not hold a charge - phone call - tech arrived within an hour and swapped out the batteries. I had one machine that had a ripped seat - they put electrical tape on it that kept attaching to my butt. (Got duct tape from bell services for this one) - the person picking up my scooter was late - and I had to leave to go to the airport - left scooter with bell services - no issue.
To see how other vendors really are - I'm choosing to rent with Walker mobility for my upcoming April trip. I would certainly not infer in any way that you are doomed with a poorly performing machine - it's going to do what you need it to do.
I am not saying you should or shouldn't use them, but I am saying please be cautious, they only have 22 reviews on Yelp and there are some issues. They are more expensive than Gold Mobility (at least for a 7 day stay, shorter stays may be different) and don't seem to have all of the accessories and rental insurance is extra where Gold Mobility includes a damage/theft waiver. It also appears that their 400 lb model is the Victory 9 or 10, but you don't get the captains chair like Gold Mobility offers.Has anyone used Scooter king? It looks like they can pick up early on our departure day. I was wondering if they would be better than scooter bug
Thank you. We are only reserving for 2 days, but cost is only one factor. The biggest issue is having pickup before we leave for our flight, so it has to be no later than 730 or left with bell services. I realize my choices aren't great. I can understand the schedule being nice, just providing information on what I see as the differences.
Yeah, definitely not an optimal situation, Gold Mobility can pick up at 7:00 AM and they do have 1-3 day rentals available now. Not sure if you meant you need your pickup time by 7:30 AM or if your flight is at 7:30 AM, if pickup, they can do it, otherwise you may have to go with the others or Scotterbug since they can pick up from Bell Services.Thank you.
