Howdy~
I'm sure this has been answered before, but..
We will be taking a cruise and plan on staying at a Disney World resort on the first day and the last day of our vacation. Will we be able to rent a scooter for my mom on those days from the hotels ? We will be staying one night at POR Alligator Bayou and one night at FQ.
I noticed some people use the term ECV, I'm not sure what this is. My mom is able to walk, but has difficulty and is very slow moving. I think a scooter (amigo type) would be best.
Thanks and cheers.

For anybody reading this thread who didn't find the information as quickly as the OP: WDW resorts do not rent or provide mobility equipment to guests (they do h ave some emergency wheelchairs.) The closest anyone can come to renting at a resit is Buena Vista Scooters:
  • They are located on the Boardwalk, so on-site
  • They are a Featured Vendor, so customers can use Bell Services as the "swap" point
  • They offer one day rentals
I personally still prefer and recommend Walker and Randy's, but BVS is the best option in a situation like this.

Just for future reference for others who may come across this...

ECV rentals are not done through the WDW resorts. You can rent within the theme parks, or you can rent from an offsite vendor and have it delivered to the resort. Vendors are listed in post#2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread pinned near the top of this forum.

I know Walker Mobility rents ECZvs for both WDW and DCL. I do suggest that you let the vendor know your plans to take it on a cruise, even if pick-up/return is in Orlando. Just to make sure you don't void a warranty by taking it out of the country.

Enjoy your land and sea vacation!
