Scooter Mom Rides Again! A Thanksgiving DR-Nov.21-25(Updated 12/26-closing thoughts)

Yikes! Sorry about your GF Cafe dinner! What a disaster... even if the server can't control the poor quality/taste of the food, it's no excuse to not accept your TiW cards and to charge you for the entire meal + deduct your meal credits. I like your bright side - no rats! :rotfl2:

Turns out DH thought he had it all straightened out, but when we got home that $187 charge was ON our credit card bill along with an additional $50+ which I assume was the total after our tip and drinks. We had to call the credit card company and get it resolved. What a mess !!! This is our first and only really bad experience with Disney. It won't stop me going though.

As much as I love Le Cellier, I'm with you, I just don't think it is a 2 credit lunch experience. I wonder if they'll still have the lunch size mushroom filet when it becomes a signature lunch?? I'm a still a fan of the mushroom filet.

I love Le Cellier !! I will wait and se what everyone says about the 2 credit lunch. From what I understand, the only other 2 credit lunch is Brown Derby. And all I have to say to that is ..... rats !!!

Do I see another chicken nugget meal in your kids' future?? Heck, why mess with a good thing! :rotfl2:

I really wish she would eat something different sometimes. It can be so exhausting getting food into her. Especially healthy food. My mom says it is payback because I used to be like that, too.

Lunch at Columbia Harbor House

After riding Haunted Mansion we were hungry so we went to lunch at:

DH and DD ran to get FP’s for Space Mountain. DD rode the tea cups on the way. DS and I got food. Which is really hard to do in a scooter. A gentleman in line noticed us struggling with it and helped us carry it to our table. I was very thankful to have his help.

We had our usual that works for us. DH, DS and I all got the shrimp platter.

DD had Chicken – I know – shocker.

DH and I had the apple cobbler.

DD and DS had the chocolate cake

We really enjoy eating here. I really like the shrimp and the apple cobbler thingy. Always a win for us.

We were all winding down and we wanted to get on the road so we wouldn’t have to battle too much traffic so we got some snacks with the last of our snack credits.

DS got a root beer float.

After that, we decided to head out. So we went out and caught a bus back to SSR. This took forever and I had to listen to DH moan about how long it was taking. We finally made it back to SSR and I turned the scooter back in. We got some last minute goodies before we left.

We all bundled into the car, we gassed up at the Hess station and then we headed home. Another successful Disney trip !!

Stay tuned for the last part of this trilogy – Scooter Mom, The Final Chapter !!

Thanks to everyone who followed along and actually stopped in to comment. I hope you will follow along next time. I will try to get to some different places so it will be more interesting.

Just wanted to post some closing thoughts.

We really love Disney at Thanksgiving. And I really love being on the Dining Plan. It really makes our vacations more relaxed when DH isn't worried about every penny we are spending as we go along. Having it paid for beforehand is really convenient for us and definitely saves us some arguments on the trip.

We were really bummed about our dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Not only was the quality terrible, but when we got home, we discovered that our waitress did indeed charge us $187 for the dinner, PLUS a $27 tip, PLUS an additional 50 odd dollars which I think is the tip and drinks combined. PLUS she deducted 4 dining credits as well. DH got it all straightened out with the credit card company, thank goodness. But it was very disappointing.

We very much enjoyed the rest of our food though and can't wait to go back and try new things and revisit our favorites.

Thanks to everyone who stopped in to comment and say hello. I really appreciate your friendship and input.

I might write another Dining Review of our upcoming trip in January. Our line-up is:

Jan 18

Lunch - Yak and Yeti Counter Service
Dinner - Tutto Italia

Jan 19

Lunch - Starring Rolls
Dinner - Cape May Cafe

Jan 20

Breakfast - Boardwalk Bakery
Lunch - Liberty Tree Tavern

I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year !!
