We are a party of 3 as well and they have always given us 2 rows. We prefer to sit together, which they gladly let us do. I figure we just opened up a table for a walk up then!
We eat there everytime we go. And I hate to tell you but the row of seats is really only big enough for 2 adults. 3 would be to much and the table part is already very small. We have a hard time just fitting the plates and drinks on that. But how ever you have to do it, I think it is so worth it. Great rest. and great food and service.
We were able to sit me, dh and a booster for my little one in one row, but like op said with plates and drinks you might want a little room to spread out.
We went in May, me, DD3, and DH. They seated us in a two-row car. My husband sat in the back and my daughter and I sat in the front. The table area in front of you isn't very large (it's kind of narrow) and it would have been difficult for the three of us to sit in one row. DH is very tall, as well, which would have made it much more difficult.
I'd go with two rows. One of you can sit alone, right?
I know some complain about not being able to carry on a good conversation seated that way, but we are willing to sacrifice an hour of conversation to eat there, lol. After all, on vacation we're pretty much together 24/7. We talk constantly. Don't tell the rest of my family, but I look forward to that hour of peace and lack of conversation.
