We have ADRS for lunch, 7 people on reservation, car holds 6. But one of the 7 is an infant, and explained this, but Disney Policies for 7 is to have 2 cars even though the baby will sit in our lap. Now they told me to explain this when we checked in and they may work with us. has anybody run into this? and did they work with you to get in the same car?(same car mostly for photo reasons) and we all wont to play with the baby. But why put two strangers in the back seat, when the grandparents could sit there.

The seats in the cars are NOT spacious. I don't think a baby will fit on anyone's lap unless they are super stick thin. If someone is, you may have a shot.

We were a group of 7 last summer when we ate at Sci-Fi. Our ADR's had us at two seperate cars but when we arrived they asked us if we wanted the two cars, or all in one. We chose to sit all together, and our 3 children (10,7,5 ) sat in the front seat, DH and I in the middle seat, and MIL and FIL in the back seat. At one point DH and I had DD in our row, which was slightly cramped, since DH is a pretty solid guy, but not unbearable. The problem with baby on lap might be that the seats are not really adjustable, you can't move back from the "table" which is really just a fairly narrow ledge, so you might run into trouble if the baby is trying to pull your food off the table and such, since you can't move your seat back, or turn sideways or anything really. IIRC there are some tables around the sides of the restaurant, but of course, the cars are more fun......
As far as photo ops go, there is a car parked out front of the restaurant, and of all the photos we took, those turned out the best, it is pretty dark inside to get a decent photo (at least with my camera skills ;-))

Actually the seats are big enough, we have let our other kids seat 3 across after we have been seated many times, the baby has no choice but to sit with us, and once she does all we need is a car for six. I hate to tie up two cars for no reason.

Ah, this is difficult. Any human counts as a person. You are willing to hold the baby for the entire meal but Disney will still have to count that child, no matter how young, as a person.

But here's what I would suggest. And it probably will work (and it would work if I was anywhere near the situation). You said the reason for one car was for photo ops. I don't see any reason at all to politely ask if just for one minute that you could all be in the same car. Maybe I'm just a Disney dreamer but if I were a hitchhiker and someone asked me to step out of the car for a minute for that, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

You can also explain the situation to your server and maybe when there is a completely empty car available, you all could pose for pictures.

The Sci-Fi servers are some of the most upbeat people I have ever encountered. I'm sure something will work out.
