I've been to the sci fi before, we thought it was ok. However it was years ago before we even had kids. Now we have a 4 and 6 year old and i think they would really enjoy the "ambience" of the sci fi. I'm sure they'll like the food as well.

or

Mama Melrose. We've never eaten there and i always hear very mixed reviews on here. We tried for the fantasmic package but they didn't have any available the week we are going (end of august).

Thanks!

We usually pick Sci Fi for lunch. We are not fans of MM. Tried it twice and won't go back. We like 50's Prime Time as well.

With your little ones, I would go for the car dining! :goodvibes

They are two completely different types of restaurants.

We have gone to Mama Melrose three times, twice with kids, once with kids under 6. They behaved themselves and did OK with the food. We think the food is decent, but that the quality has decreased since our first dinner there in 2002. I would say it's on par with Olive Garden or maybe Carrabba's.

Sci-Fi has a great atmosphere for kids and serves basically diner food. Some people love it, other people hate it. I think a lot of people have mediocre feelings about MM where as people either seem to love or hate Sci-Fi.

We love Sci -Fi!!!! I would choose that, especially with kids!!!:thumbsup2

Si Fi is great for lunch for dinner thumbs down. MM is good for dinner. But Love PT The Best :thumbsup2:worship::cool1:

Agree! Sci-Fi is our favorite for lunch. I think your kids will really like it, it's a great atmosphere for them :thumbsup2

We loved them both last year and will be going back to both in August, but Sci-Fi for Lunch is a better option IMHO. DD9 and DD6 love eating in the car. Mama Melrose is a better Dinner option because it is a more filling meal. Either way enjoy because you can't go wrong....... plus it's Disney. :woohoo:

We've done both and have had great meals and great service at both. I think for lunch, though, that I'd go with Sci-Fi as I think the menu is better at lunch.

We ate at MMs on our last trip in March and thought the food was really good. The service and the ambience was very nice as well. When we return in September, I made ADRs for Sci-Fi (first time dining here) because our girls will be 9 and 7 when we go and we think they will really like the atmosphere there. We have been waiting to take them because they used to get freaked out on films that seemed weird to them...now, I know they will laugh at it all. Can't wait to go....oh, yeah, we are going for lunch....heard many reviews about how lunch is way better than dinner (which is what I originally had).

We went during the dinner hour in September and I was not happy with anything on the menu. I asked if I could get a cheeseburger from the lunch menu and they were more than happy to oblige. Just a little side note for those that can't get a lunch ressie. :)
