Sci-Fi Milkshakes

I was just wondering if it would be possible to get reservations at Sci-Fi and just order milk shakes. Is this rude to take up a reservation for this, or is there some other way to go about this? Thanks.

No, I don't think it is rude. I've seen plenty of posts where people say they are just going to a particular restaurant for dessert. In fact, in July we are going to Sci-Fi just for milkshakes too! I don't feel guilty becuase we don't plan on spending tons of time there (we aren't going to hog a table for 2 hours just for milkshakes) and when we do dessert only at a restaurant we tip about 20% if we have good service to make up for the fact that we didn't order so much.

Although I do not think there are any official rules, but I would leave a tip larger than 15%. Being a former server of a restaurant when people came in and just got desserts and took up the table it was very frustrating. Again there is no policy saying you can't I am just giving you my opinion and hope you will consider your server.

I understand you may want to sit relax and enjoy some cool air but you can also get milkshakes to go.

yeah, we would leave a nice tip. We are planning on doing a fantasmic dinner package, and dont need more than one table service, but like the Sci-Fi and the ambience of the restaurant.

This is a table service restaurant and you should consider the server and tip accordingly.

We did this on the advice of a CM who was helping me plan my meals. We did leave a larger tip as well.

If you are feeling weird about it at all, maybe you can split an appetizer too as a midday snack. I would LOVE a Sci-Fi milkshake and some onion rings right now - ok, maybe not right NOW (it is 8:30 AM) but certainly today for lunch! It definitely beats being in rainy CT - is it ever going to stop???? OK - i am way - sorry. But yeah - just treat it like a TS meal and tip accordingly.
