This place has a lot going for it but the food doesn't. The burger was slimy and tasteless. The fries were so so. The milkshake was the best part of our $40 lunch.

Our meal in June was nothing to write home about, but the kicker was the service. He was so uninterested in us until it was time to get his tip. He wanted to force DH into a dessert to jack up his tip (we were on the DxDP). It was a total change from the good food and awesome service we had the year before.
Sci-Fi is no longer on my list of places to eat at DHS.
We had dinner there on November 15 and loved it! Our server was attentive, fast, and friendly. We had the ribs, the pasta/shrimp salad, and Italian chicken sandwich, each of us had a milkshake as our drink. The food was tasty, although DGD10 wasn't crazy about the chicken sandwich, I should have ordered from the kid's menu for her. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again. If I had listened to all the negative reviews here (and I almost did cancel our ADR because of them) we'd have never had the fun and enjoyment of dining at the Sci-Fi.

We must have been there on the exact same day, because I could have written this reivew. Only, the service was the best part of our meal... The milkshake was a distant second.
I felt bad for our waitress, figuring people probably don't tip as well when they are disappointed with the food.
wow....we had a very enjoyable dinner there one evening.....we'd never been, loved the atmosphere, the food wasn't incredible, but it was quite tasty.ribs, shrimp and pasta(yum) and ds got a steak dinner for his allergy....I want to go back!
We just ate there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The atmosphere knocked our socks off, but that was about it. Food wasn't bad, but nothing exciting. Our server seemed to be gone a lot more than the server of the cars nearby, so I can't say I liked the service, either. The real kicker was the 3-year-old little boy in the seat in front of us with his dad who ignored him most of the time. So, he constantly climbed up on the seat and often put his hand over the back of the seat towards our food.
I'm going to put more info. in my dining review...I think we might go back someday, but not anytime too soon.
We like to go to see the old movies, I remember them as a kid and get a real kick out of it. As far as the food, it's just ok. I don't like when we give our order that we have to give our desert order at the same time. It saves the server time but it really gets to me. I feel very rushed when we eat there. Probably won't go back for some time. Although if you have never been before it is something to see. The kids seem to love it. After all they will probably never see a real drive in theatre anymore.
I'm not really a fan of Sci-Fi. We ate there on our first trip, and I don't think we'll go back. People say the atmosphere is worth it, but to me, watching the same 20 min loop 2-3 times isn't atmosphere.
As for the milkshakes, I didn't find them that great. Maybe I was spoiled earlier in the trip since I had had one at Narcoossee's (I think) that was awesome, and continues to haunt my dreams, but I didn't even find them as good as, say, a McDonald's shake.
We have eaten there twice. The first time was fantastic. The last time was a disaster. We had ADRs for 4:00 pm - arrived 15 minutes early and after waiting for over an hour we were told it would be another 30 minutes if we wanted to sit in a car. We we seated in a crappy table in the back. The server was uninterested and didn't show up for another 15 minutes. When we finallly got the food it as cold and tasteless. Never again!
DH and I went for lunch at Sci-Fi for the first time on 11/16/10. While our waitress was sweet, the rest of the experience was not great and we won't go back. I liked the spinach-artichoke dip OK but my chicken sandwich was dry. I hardly ate it. We were placed in the last row of a car behind another family (ackward) and it was freezing in there; I hurried through my meal just to leave and get warm! Really disappointed because DH and I love the Sci-Fi genre and grew up watching those films on Saturday afternoons!
Haven't been in awhile, but can't wait to go back. Fingers crossed that I love the experience as much as last time. Will let you know what I think when I get back.
It's been years, but after our last visit I decided that next time we'll take a break for onion rings or fries and milkshakes...just to enjoy the atmosphere...but won't eat there.
I agree about the poor service. We sat quite awhile before seeing our CM. He seemed annoyed by the fact I wanted the Reuben, which, for some reason, wasn't on the menu that day. Then, he never brought DS's cherry coke. He never came back to check on us, so I finally flagged down the CM who was seating people and asked her to check on it. It arrived after DS had finished most of his meal.
This was the only restaurant where I felt the service was a problem.
WOW, i have not been there since 2007, but it was fun and the service was great, i admit the food was just so so, but from reading the reviews it sounds like the food has not changed but the service is horrible, we have ADR for the 11th i hope we do not get crappy service.
