Sci-fi Diner or Prime Time Cafe

We will be going to WDW in May for our first trip. We are 6 adults and 2 kids 4 and 1 1/2. Which would be better for lunch Sci-fi Diner or Primte-time Cafe? Thanks for any opinions.

My personal preference would be 50's Prime Time. Down home cooking with pretty large portions. Waiters that act like your Mom would, but louder It's a fun experience and the food is great...

I have never been to Prime-Time 50's but been to Sci-Fi twice and already have PS's for this May. The waiters roll around on roller skates and you get to sit in cars which the kids really get a kick out of. Our last visit...my DS's were 3 and 5 years old and they loved it. I'm sure you will get mixed reviews. I have always heard 50's Prime Time is great too.

I think the food is better at 50's Primetime though. One thing to consider is at 50's you can get a table that all of your party can sit together. At Sci-Fi you could sit at a picnic table in the back so you all can sit together, but half the fun of Sci-Fi is being seated in the cars. At least our kids though so.

I have been to both and like both alot. They are different, I think, and hard to compare. FOr one, conversation is not really easy at Sci Fi. You're set up facing a movie screen (like a drive in) and people watch films while they eat. I think its 2... maybe 3... people across. So you can talk easily to people next to you, but have to twist around to talk to people around you. So if youre looking for family conversation, you wont be able to do that easily there. The food is different, but good, at both. SciFi is more burgers at lunch, while primetime is homestlye cooking - both delicious!!! Primetime is alot of fun if you like the potential of being teased, and get a good server. You can easliy have conversations here, but know there is usually so much interaction going on between tables and waitstaff that even that is not that easy =)

Dont think I really answered your question, just wanted to point out they are diff experiences depending upon what you are looking for. Theming and food is great in both, I think =) I'm sure you'll be thrilled with whatever you decide!!!!!!

If it is dinner I would pick Prime Time. We love Sci Fi at lunch for the burgers but feel that the dinner menu is not nearly as good. The food at Prime Time is very good and if you don't mind the antics there by the servers you will have a great time.

We've been to both and much prefer Prime Time. Better food, and everyone is able to sit together.

Have never been to Sci-fi but I LOVE 50's prime time!!! The food is good & the atomspere is fun. Have fun!

I love them both but after doing SciFi with a 1.5 yo never again. My other 2 DD wanted to sit in a car which is the best part but you are not able to use a high chair. Well she sat on my lap which she usually ends up doing anyway . The problem was I had a heck of a time feeding her because it's dark and I couldn't see what I wss doing,lol! Prime time is a hoot! I truely think your party will enjoy it much more.
