Do you think it's a complete waste of space in VMK?

Once you have seen the room and sat in a car, well, thats it - yawn!

...perhaps its because I am from the UK and we don't have drive-ins here - LOL!

I know there is a Sci-Fi in MGM. Just seems totally out of place!

It's just another hangout place on vmk. Just like many of the other places on vmk.

And we really don't have drive-ins in the US anymore either. Too seasonal and too many people could see the movie without paying for it (even if they couldn't hear it).

I don't really know why they put it in vmk. I think it's just a place for the designers to have their names somewhere public.

I know there is a Sci-Fi in MGM. Just seems totally out of place!

I know the Sci-Fi in Walt Disney World is in MGM, but maybe it is on Main Street in another Disneyland. I am not positive, this has just been my assumption of why it was placed there. I can think of several other things they could have added to Main Street if they wanted a new addition. If Sci-Fi is on another Main Street, I would say I understand its purpose. I also agree with crazy on this LOL it is just like any other room where you go and sit lol.

Hmmm...there is no Sci-Fi at Disneyland in Anaheim...at least not that I'm aware of. There is a car with seats in it inside Innoventions that looks kind of like the ones in VMK. I was going to take a pic of it and add to my "Real Pics of Things in VMK" thread. It sounds like the true inspiration comes from MGM?

Well since this is VMK not VMGM....anywhere they put Sci-Fi would be out of place. So they probably just thought "Hey, Main Street needs some more rooms!" I think it's cool to sit in Yavn's car and stare at Pirates 2 posters...and then immediately leave due to a relationship argument in the car next to you!


Oh and there is no Sci-Fi at DLR...so I'm guessing there's only the one at MGM. Maybe its the start of incorporating the neighbor parks into the Magic Kingdom! I mean with all the Animal Kingdom stuff I think they are starting to spread the magic to all parks! Next stop...DCA!

Okay here's my take on Sci-Fi, Ladies and Germs.. ..okay really, I believe it fits completely in Main Street. It's the USA of yester-year when I was a kid the drive-in was a part of regular life. So, I believe it fit's Main Street for that very reason. Thank you for your time...bye.

Actually, there are a *few* drive-ins left, at least here in California.

Main Street USA is ment to be a turn of the century town. Were there that many drive-ins in the late 18 hundreds?
It is just a place to advertise the films.

I wonder why Sci-Fi... If they wanted a restaurant room, they could have added some Main Street USA dining areas such as the famous, hot dog lovers place called "Cacey's Corner." or maybe "Tony's". If they wanted advertisement of Disney movies, they could have added the old cinema from Main Street USA. Is this a small, grain of a hint leading to the assumption of a soon to be VMGM?

Well I for one, do NOT think it belongs. I, stupid person that I am, told someone I would meet them in the drive-in. Turns out it is a big "girls hit on boys" section of VMK. That is all that happened while I was there. Girls get in a car with a boy and hit on them. I was astounded and mentioned something to my teen son and his response was "Duh"

I will be on vacation next week, in a remote part of Colorado. They told me they do not have the cable, fast connect system that I am used to. They do however have dial-up, and luckily I have a lap-top. So, at least I can get on the internet and get on VMK. But, just how hard will it be for me to get around? Will I be able to get my daily credits?, ...will I be able to play games??? Please let me know what to expect. Will I feel like this , or will I feel like this ? Thanks in advance for your input.

and about the sci fi..
they should at least have movies playing! u know like in disneyland when you go to see mickey mouse and a take a picture with him while your in that dark room in line they have a tv there that shows clips of the old disney tv shows(i like the one about the band and stage that gets on fire and stuff)

Totally! I always loved watching those clips after DL closed for the night...I would love to see that in VMK

Sci-Fi is a blast!!

Where else in VMK can you sit in a car with yavn, have him buy you a "route bear and cheese fries" from the concession stand and watch Narnia??

I love the sounds in that room also and the new pirates and Narnia graphics are awesome.

I do think it belongs in VMK, it is a restaurant in MGM and IMHO is alot of fun to hang out in!!

Well that is how it should be, but I think it is mostly used for the bay be game...

I love the idea of real clips, but the server would probably explode!
