Can anyone tell me if there are cars that seat 5? The last time I was there (2002), I only remember seating for 4. Also is there other seating there besides the cars?

Thanks

The cars seat 6 people - there are 3 rows in each car. Yes, there are other seating options. There are a few cars with tables inbetween the bumpers, for wheelchair access, and there are also some round picnic tables in the back.

My familly really likes this restaurant. Split a burger between 2 people (they're large!) and an order of onion rings. And don't forget a milkshake (cookies and cream is delicious).

Is this a PS type restaurant or a walk-right in and sit down?

nezy i'd make aPS for this one as it was one of the longer waits we had even with a ps for 3:55in a empty park ( was really cold that day)...the only thing I did not like at all about here was they sat us(2) in the back seat behind another family (4) and they sat us all at the same time and took our orders at the same time also. their entrees came out way before our order even though all we got was soup and a burger and they got an appe and entrees which made me think they waited to put our order in till they did their entree. so a long wait for *our* food while* they* chomped on their appe.

plus the seating is not at all private. it isn't like Biergarten where you basically are expected to socialize and the tables are set up that way, instead we felt like we were just intruding/evesdropping on this other family's dinner. kind of odd.

there are 5 of us plus my in-laws, so that may be better as far as the awkward/close feeling. I will make a PS though, thanks.
Someone mentioned"sharing" a burger-do they charge for split orders or can you order like 3 entrees for 5 people(including 3 kids)? We never finish it all and I hate to throw it out.

we shared a burger and I got popcorn chowder ( really corn chowder with a couple pieces of popcorn as a garnish) which I assumed was a cup but it was a large bowl. they split the burger for us in the kitchen and charged us the normal price.

I got there about 12:30 pm, had not make a PS (Dec 17) but only had to wait about 10 minutes (but the park was empty that day). I was by myself and was seated in the "back" seat with another family of four in the front & middle seat. The waitress took all our orders at the same time and they all came out about the same time. It was a little odd but not much different than being seated beside a stranger in an airplane for dinner (back when they served meals!).

It was an expensive hamburger (with tip, close to $17.00 for burger, fries and soda) but the atmosphere was terrific and really brought back memories of going to the drive-in when I was a kid.
Kids nowadays don't know what they've missed.

No, they won't charge for sharing, but because of the seating arrangements, it would probably be challenging to share 3 entrees for 5 people. I would recommend only sharing with the other person in your row, otherwise you'll have to pass food back and forth over people's heads (unless you ask them to split it for you in the kitchen, but 3 entrees for 5 people is kind of a tricky split :) ) Just something to consider!

the waiter we had split our burger/fries in the kitchen with out us even having to ask but agree it would be difficult otherwise as the family in front of us kept doing gymnastic moves trying
to share their appe.!:) it isn't a "formal" type place though and I noticed a few families where the parents got up to split up the kids food, cut things ect. the way it is set up you wouldn't be causing a problem( like blocking someone's view) if you had to do this.
